Is a clean install of windows recommended? Man I've Been out of the computer game for a long time...
In my case I was already upgrading the SSD and I always like to get rid of the bloatware. I'm not familiar with how to clone the original SSD to a new one either.

Confirmed that it's an "i5-1035G4"

Even the demo model showed i5.

For those who are not sure about whether they would get an I3 or I5, here are some photos:

For those who are curious about the configuration of the laptop (network card, ssd..etc), here are some screenshots of the device manager of the laptop.

This is definitely better deal, the i5 CPU is the same one that's in the new surface pro.

It's a rare mistake for HP to have put these CPU in such a cheap laptop. Just upgrade the memory to 8GB and this thing will fly

WORST OF ALL, there seems to be a HUGE BUG that slows down this i5 to CRAWLING SPEED <No exaggeration>!
(Can someone else check so I can see if it's just mine?)

- WHILE PLUGGED IN, turn on the computer and boot into Windows 10
- Put the computer into "Sleep mode" by either pressing the "Power button" or closing the Lid.
- When you wake up the computer again, does your computer slow down to crawling speed?

I wonder if I got a dud.
Not only do I have the "Wake up from Sleep" issue, I realize my Power Plug isn't very smooth (unlike the 2018 version). It doesn't smoothly go in all the way. I need to force it untill I hear a "click" sound. And that goes the same with unplugging. It doesn't unplug smoothly and get's "stuck" half way out, and then I have to pull it out again. It's as if it requires 2 stages for both plugging & unplugging.

My 2018 does not have such issue.

Does your power cable plugs into /unplugs from the power port very smoothly?

Thanks.

Just swap it out for another one. This is why buying from Costco is the best.

When I was the store playing with the hp laptops, I realized some of them have different logos on them. This one has a regular HP logo and a 2-in1 has an HP logo that has a different design (consisted of lines... Don't know how to better describe it, but my work HP elite laptop shares the same logo). Anyone knows the reason for the different logos?

I have to pull it out twice to get it out. Doesn't bother me. Just seems normal to me...

Maybe you're just being a little nit picky? Don't think it's a real issue to be honest

For those who have this, how is the battery life on this ? Under normal usage, wifi on, 6 to 8 tabs open, and the occasional video clip playing.

In for one. Hopefully the HDMI 1.4b isn't a limiting factor for my 4k, HDR, Atmos HTPC dreams.

If it's not an i5 when I get it, I'll just return it.
