If I order now - is there a possibility I will get the i5 version?
I just picked mine up at Costco today and yep I have an i5.

At this point I'm fairly sure it's the whole batch that's different. Can't say for certain though.

Can you get the wifi driver on a thumb drive? The zip version, not the executable. Then In device manager install the driver using the Have Disk option. See Option 2, Manual Installation:
https://www.intel.co.uk/content/w...ivers.html
Not sure if that zip is the right one

Trying to figure out if its worth returning the Lenovo laptop for 129 to get this instead. It is an extra $150 but I have a 25 off 250 coupon for Costco when I signed up for the membership, so that should save me an extra $25 on this, making it $125 more than the Lenovo.. I dont think Lenovo will give a hard time to return the laptop since it says you have 30 days. The lenovo isnt bad considering the price but its been pretty sluggish. I expect this one is faster and would probably last longer since ram is upgradeable.

Thanks.
Did you place online order to be picked up at the warehouse? When did you place the order?

Laptop is still bone stock, using the original SSD. Simply nuking the drive to install and clean version of Win10 and another dual boot partition for linux. I always feel better starting with a clean version of windows...even if its not 100% necessary.
did you try this:

I had this problem too, and tried many times without luck. Finally, I found this answer from 2011:
http://superuser.com/questions/27...ia-drivers
If you are installing with USB drive, when it asks for driver, click Cancel. Once you are at the welcome screen, insert the USB drive to a different USB port. Then click Install Now to install.
- worked perfect for me.

I can confirm 4k 60hz. I dont think there is a 4k120hz panel out there, if there is it must be super expensive
Well dumb question next but can it do 1080p@120hz? 144hz?

Maybe get the Costco deal, right now, while it's still in stock, and play with both of them for a week and then decide if you want both, or the one that works best for you. You can return either one , and you have 30 days on 14w.

I tried something similar this morning. Will try it again in a bit and follow your post step by step.

So, are people getting i5 only on store pick up, or ship to home order also?

I think at least one person who ordered online got an i5. The rest I believe are still waiting for it to arrive.

Only one person reported getting an i3, and that was in-warehouse if I recall.

That's weird, as it seems to be 2400 MHz while the spec says 2666 MHz. From one of the pictures, I see Micron MTA4ATF51264HZ-2G6E1.

No problem.

No online order, I just went in the store and got it, that way I could return it quickly if it was the i3.

I'm returning that laptop for this one. It's a major difference. The Lenovo is terrible.

i mean real world battery. I have been on it for 4.5 hours from a full charge. Been mainly browsing the internet and checking out some videos.

I am still at 58%.
