Thank you, Yes , I did a complete reinstall. yes. lost all the HP drivers (and the HP bloatware software). After the clean install, the only process I had was HP touchpoint analytics and I disabled it. In my start up I have defender and onedrive. When I play a video, run updates, the fan kicks in as we are about to lift off [and fly],

Did you try to unplug the power adapter?

Anybody notice the loud trackpad? I tap on it and the entire thing vibrates. Kind of annoying.

Any possible solutions?

you are looking at the i-3 for 5,900, this the i5 go check again

average passmark is 9,400 for this CPU, that includes people that dont know how to elimimate bloat, turn off unwantwd proccesses of running etc.. 10K with regular RAM, it is impressive number yeah, 8-10% improvement with more and faster RAM
I didn't see that it was shipping with the i5 lol. The specs and HP said the i3. Never seen that before.

If these are really are all carrying the i5 this is quite a lot of horsepower for $280. It may be the most I've ever seen at this price and power consumption.

I was kinda sorta interested before but now I'm seriously considering lol. If it doesn't have the i5 I'll just send her back.

Even at costco the specs stated i3 cpu but once you bought it the label on the onside stated i5 hence why people didn't want to take the chance and bought it instore.

I used this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

and used Macrium Reflect to clone it. I couldn't figure out how to use the whole 500gb instead of just the 128gb for the whole C: drive. So I have two partitions, a C: which is the exact clone, and a D which is 346gb which was the left over space.

For whatever reason, it still had a boot up error and ended up reinstalling windows.
In the windows, there is a tool call "computer management", You can change the size of a partition without much of a hassle. Open Computer Management as admin, then select "Disk Management". You will see the partitions of the drives in graphics. Click on the partitiion that you want to make change, then you can "shrink" or "expand' the size of the partition.
