The second laptop I bought (all stock, but clean install of Windows) has almost no touchpad play, but it seems to be running much hotter than the first (upgraded to 20GB RAM & SSD). I ran AIDA64, and the non upgraded one, it throttled right away, whereas, the upgraded version did not throttle. I'm sure the ram helped somewhat, but I still want it to run cooler. If I have enough thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5), I will apply it today and rerun the tests. The heatsink is copper as seen here, based on the part number from the hardware manual. https://www.newegg.com/p/1B4-001S...H71ACS4087 Liquid metal can cause corrosion of the copper so I wont be going that route.

Yes I have that setup. Just look for a USB 3.0 docking station. They have a few monitor outputs, audio out, ethernet, and a bunch of USB 2 and 3 ports.

Note: you cannot use a USB-C hub or docking station. Those require that your USB-C port can output video, which this one can't. So get the USB 3.0 one.
Thank you jackt. Repped.

I have a Targus Dock model Dock120 which is USB3 and all I want to do is run two 27" regular 1080p monitors.

What are the cons with buying 1 stick of 16gb ram to upgrade this laptop to 20gb total? Does the unequal ram affect performance? I'm reading online about the benefits of dual-channel ram. How does that apply if I have a 4gb & 16gb ram configuration? Thanks!!

Planning to add one stick of this bundle to the existing RAM.
Will that cause issues? Just gonna use for web browsing and some moderate development work

you need this one: 16GB (1x16GB) 2666MHz [amazon.com] is the right speed matching the existing stick, you linked 2400MHz one

Nice to know, why did you buy an extra one?
