Isn't this a better deal and $50 cheaper?

Not sure... reviews say it's made in China. I know the newer Craftsman ratchets that are made in China are crap but not sure about these. Also I'm pretty sure the 1/2 sockets are all 12 points which are not ideal... I'm not a mechanic, just DIY... but I know it's mentioned a lot that 12 points tend to round off fasteners. Just fyi. If you price out 1/2 6 points, it well worth the extra $50 with this set. The unknown for me is which sockets you get in 1/2 but the ones you get are 6 points and no 12 points.

Would you (or some other owner of this set) be able to post a pic of the contents sticker from the back of the box? I can't find a list of contents anywhere online. The HD description says it includes a SAE 2 in.1/2 in. drive 6-point deep socket but I can't see one that big in the pics!
If you look closely at one of the photos of the deep well sockets, you can see the first 1/2 SAE sized socket is 7/16". And since there are 10 sockets, that indicates these are the socket sizes in the kit: SAE 7/16 in., 1/2 in., 9/16 in., 5/8 in., 7/8 in., 11/16 in., 3/4 in., 13/16 in., 15/16 in., 1 in.

I did a double take when I saw 1-1/16 in., 1-1/8 in., 1-3/16 in., 1-1/4 in., 2 in. listed on the HD site, because those are some large sizes you typically do not see in these sets. I think the HD site is wrong, unless those larger sockets are on some other tray not shown in the photos.

That's exactly what I was thinking. But if it does include those, I find the deal much more tempting! I have most of what I need as far as tools (I do nearly all of my own mechanic work), but not the convenience of a single, complete and portable set.

Agreed. I don't often need those larger sizes, but when I do it's nice to have them in a set. I think last time I had to make due with a pipe wrench, which was not ideal . This deal would be nice having those larger sizes, but I don't think it does.

Post back... curious which you think is better. I went with this and thinking it's better than the Costco one because I'm thinking it includes 1/2 deep, but can't tell for sure.
Personal preference really. I like this deal better then Costco as the case itself is AMAZING! With that said, its super bulky and massive overkill when you just need 1 or 2 items. Love that it has room for additional stuff. Tough choice.

Here are basically same pic as DragonMaster25 but has content picture on it.

Edit: Yeah want to repeat the weight part too... It's heavy. UPS shipping info states 44lbs.

So is this one more worth it than the craftsman set for $100?

To me it is based on two things... I like the tough system box and 1/2 shallow are 6 points vs. 12 points that are in the craftsman set AND the dewalt has 1/2 deep sockets while the craftsman set does not. Price out 1/2 deep and it will be more than $50.

Edit: Wanted to note as well that the toughsystem case has a gasket making it more water resistant than what you would have with the Craftsman box.

Out of curiosity I tried the big box since I have one... yes good bit of room left and top tray no longer sit flush with tray #1. You could have tools, like impact, stacked on top of tray #1 then place the tray in it's place. Obviously doing this just makes it even heavier. Think if I had the cart... I would move the trays over to the big box and do just that. Anyways... thought I would share that. Also note that the trays are a bit more difficult to pull out due to issue with my box... the sides are concave a bit.
