Office Designs is offering 15% off all of their Herman Miller chairs. In the past they've also offered a 5% OFF coupon that you could stack on top of the already discounted price. When I asked them about the additional 5% off through live chat they said to email them with my order number and they would refund an additional 5% off of my order but that they were not offering the coupon this year. I'd advise confirming through live chat prior to purchasing but YMMV.
Herman Miller is also doing 15% off. still deciding if I should pick up on of these.
Stealcase leap was a better chair for me. I highly advise you go sit on one if you haven't before buying.
Also, I'm a bit confused by the price of the chair as the fully loaded one is around 1,100, so with an additional 15% + 5% it comes nowhere close to $691?
Even then, I do recommend checking on craigslist. Most of the time you can find these chairs for 200-300 bucks. Lots of startups buy these chairs, and when they fail, they get sold on CL. In my area I was able to find a guy who had a decent supply of the leap + aeron.
These chairs do last, but they are horrible for ergonomics. A steelcase leap v2 can be had for about 400 used same lifetime warranty on the moving parts and is infinitely better ergonomically also looks better for most homes or even your office. I have owned and used both and herman miller owns when it comes to some office installments and lighting but when it comes to a good chair they are producing cliche art that isn't comfortable.
Purchased an aeron online from camodernhome since there is no sales tax. Not a huge savings, but better than 5% for those in higher sales tax states since office designs and smart furniture charge full tax.
Also noted that the chair prices were different by about 0 to $100 when spec'ing the same aeron chair from various authorized online sites.
In addition, some of the authorized sites don't give the full set of options for the aeron (ie leather arms).
So while not a super slick deal, saved 15% + sales tax for the exact chair that I needed. No luck with craigslist for the options I desired after patiently searching for a couple months.
Final note - thankfully did some research in advance to determine that the Madison seat site is too good to be true, bait and switch etc scam. Don't fall in the trap.. and the same sh*t on eBay with their cover-up site names. If you are spending $1000 on a chair, get the real product and warranty, not spend $700 with a scam chair.

I was basing it off of the the base model ($855 without discount) not the fully loaded one.
Man, I've been wanting a Herman Miller Embody for soo long now.
I really want to just pull the trigger, but it's also so expensive :/
I will not lie to you. They are overpriced. Example a a Herman Miller Stool cost $654-$931 (and that is with the 15% discount). Herman Miller is the equivalent to the designer world of office products.
That does NOT however mean they make bad chairs. In fact in almost all of the BTOD reviews they are in the top 10 lists (back support, lower back support, arm rests, best chair etc...) If my opinion means anything regrettably, I cannot recommend Herman Miller. We use them in the office every day at work, and while they are built solid, their comfort is purely speculative based on person to person. So justifying that cost is near impossible even with the reviews.
But I still think you should buy it, try it and if you don't like it return it. One thing I do like is the chair comes full assembled (KEEP THE BOX!). They offer a full money back guarantee 30 day window.
If by 30 days you have buyers remorse. Return it. Their customer service is quite amazing.
Disclaimer: I do have & use a Aeron at my home office too as my company provided me one when I work from home.
