LAN traffic has nothing to do with the Blue Iris software. that is dependent on how many cameras you have, the resolution, and if using H.264 or H.265 compression on the cameras.

Motion detection is very good if using the Blue Iris software but can require a computer with a good CPU. I have mine set to record directly to disk (Blue Iris not being used for motion detection and instead relying on the camera's built in detection).

I purchased and installed on the 14th and it's very easy to setup my Amcrest cameras using Blue Iris. Very happy with this software and at least in my case only uses about 12% usage with 4 cameras.
