I own this system and its not the cheapo crap that Sears sells/sold. From what i heard they have now poured a lot more money into research and want to capture the high end speaker market. Regardless of all that, i personally own these and the sound is absolutely phenomenal. Given that its ATMOS compatible and their SSE tech is pretty advanced, i would say this is 10x better than the samsung and sony competition. Will it really replace a stand alone system - absolutely no but no Soundbar will ever do that but this comes pretty close. Once you go dual subs you will probably never go back. For the money you get a lot of tech here. The only thing i dont like is that they keep calling this a 9.2.4 system but it really isnt, its more of a 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 from what i can see.

Hmm but they won some awards at CES and have a big following on the AVS forums

I have owned the 9.2 version since beginning of this year. Coming from Bose and Vizio soundbars I have owned, this is more like a full blown home theater. Worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Not really what I'v read on most reviews. Anything behind why you feel this way?
Quality has gotten worse since Chinese company has taken over the ownership. There is no research. Just slap some speakers and sell it for premium price. I have similar set from them, it sounds very hollow. I am comparing them against a $399 Sonos beam which I replaced with.
get it guys! I just installed the same system at Tom Cruise's new home the other day...Hehehehe. Seriously though, is there a surround system that come with wireless rear speakers? I HATE running wires from the front of the living room to the back

This is not the same Nakamichi from couple of decades ago. Now it is poorly made, bad design and quality.

I would guess because off all the cheap Nalamichi BT speakers and headphones that Sears was selling for practically nothing a few years ago.
