This blower sucks - I have it. I absolutely LOVE my Makita tools but they're horrible at making blowers. Makita has a more powerful one if you do some research, but even then - I'd go with another manufacturer and base your decision off CFM.

There seems to be a trend that I have come to notice that the consensus of all Makita vacuum/blowing tools just lack in the CFM.

Yeah same here. I honestly had to go to a different manufacturer. No knock against you at all for posting the deal. It's a good price. I just wouldn't buy it for heavy duty work.

Makita's Blowers don't suck, they are very competitive in their voltage class. Here's a review on one of their X2 36V models https://toolcraze.net/makita-18v-...pt-review/

The reviewer explains it has great performance for a 36 volt and there are more powerful models such as ego's but those are at higher voltages such as 56V.

The Makita 18V blower mentioned in this post is not for blowing leaves. Anyone trying to do so will be greatly disappointed but that's because it's not designed for that. This is a jobsite blower, a very light duty blower to clear away jobsite debris for stuff like sawdust, drywall dust, etc. Light stuff so you don't have to sweep or vacuum.

I like mine enough I have 2 of these. One on the deck to keep that clean. One in my shop to blow that out. And for cleaning cars. Open doors and blow over the dashboard for dust before I vac. And take to the beach to blow sand off floor mats when away for a week.

These are small and great for what they are made for.

I have the larger 36 volt and that also is great. Puts out about 90% of air that my top rated Stihl BG55 gas blower does. Makita gets used the most since quick and easy.

But a lot of leaves on a decent size yard. Nothing is going to beat a backpack blower.

My jerkwad neighboor has this blower, and he uses it to blow leaves. It's incredibly aggravating because literally on the other side of my house, I can hear the loud hum of this thing, and he has something like a 100 sq. ft. yard, and since this can't move anything, it takes him probably 2 hours to move all the leaves.. he could literally use a $10 rake and get it done in 15 minutes... laugh out loud

What about the XBU02PT1 ? Seems a good deal when you factor in all the batteries:

Review seems promising; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGDLpdh9X-4

If it can blow rocks, it can definitely blow leaves!

I have one of these for clearing my table at my metalshop during the day and one for my woodshop at night. LOVE this little guy. People using this for blowing leaves might be a certain kind of special.

It's the same exact one mentioned in the review article I mentioned. You should check out his review, it's got lots of good test footage.

lol at your if it can blow rocks, it can blow leaves comment! It reminds me of, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

Agreed!
What's sad though is that people like that will tell you night and day that cordless tools aren't any good and even sadder is that there are people that will believe them

^^^ This

I have the X2 36V model which is awesome.
I also have the smaller of the Milwaukee 18V models which is probably similar to this, kind of a toy in comparison to the 36V model but still with it's utility.

Couple years old, but a comparison of electric blowers here [protoolreviews.com] - but only covers the more powerful class of blowers, and not the one in the OP.

FakeSpot is utterly meaningless when it comes to name-brand equipment like Makita. Doubly so when it's actually sold by Amazon.

Smart choice, because it's not made for heavy-duty work. 🙄
