Jeez...

-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans

-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.

-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".

-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.

-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100

-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.

-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get

-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.

-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.

-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.

Please make sure that you buy the phone outright, meaning limited colors and storage options.

My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.

In the Terms shown in the checkout page I see the following. Not sure what that means. Should I activate with a month of service just to be on the safe side? Have anyone traded in a Boost phone without Activation before? Thanks.

https://www.boostmobile.com/conte...tions.html

Any limitations On How I Use My Device?
If you get a Device from Boost or a Boost authorized retailer without paying full price (MSRP) for the Device, you agree not to resell or trade in, or participate or profit in the resale or trade in, of the Device to a third party until you have met all your financial and contractual obligations to us. If you do this without meeting your obligations, we reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary, including charging you for the difference between the Device's full price and the price you paid for it, and seeking recovery of related damages. If you have a separate agreement with Boost to acquire, purchase, or lease a Device, any restrictions on resale in that agreement will also apply, so please refer to the terms of any such agreement to understand your rights to resell your Device.
Just spitballing here, but I would assume that would apply to people who got the phone for $49 iphone 7 that requires an activation and plan. If you buy the preowned iphone 7 for $130, and you add it to the cart, if you view the cart it says in the top right corner "no service contracts". You are buying the phone at the full retail price (albeit on sale) they are charging.

However, if you get one of the phones that require activation and a plan (such as the $49 iphone 7), then maybe that clause would apply.

At least that is my thought.

Did costco tell you that you did not have to submit it, and they already did that for you. that is what makes me confused. since I used to submit by taking the picture of invoice and screenshot
no, the costco rep told me to follow the instructions on the rebate sheet(image in the wiki) and i went to tmobile's promotions website, followed the instructions, submitted the pictures of the invoice and the iphone box, and that was it. the costco wireless reps seemed to be not that good, but then they have to deal with a lot of people and a lot of offers so i am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. but you should totally have walked out of the costco with the new phone, the rebate sheet, the trade in confirmation and the shipping label, anything less and you will have to go back and get it fixed. and today tmobile's rebate system works as intended. i just mailed my old phone out once the rebate system worked for me.

I see. Ok. How about suspend? Below is from tm website:
You can suspend your monthly T-Mobile service for one of the following reasons:
Your device was lost or stolen.
You won't be using your phone for a period of time.
You're about to enter active military service.
Go for it. You'll be fine.

Or maybe you won't. One way to find out, so please take one for the team and let us know.

they did not give me the rebate sheet but only the shipping label and told me just ship the trade in phone and they submitted. Because I was doing what you did before for different promotion ($580), so I was so confused. AND I track my rebates and did not see any thing showing the $700 rebate. so i just went ahead and did that and got the acknowledgement. Not sure if that would cause duplication if they really submit it for me. I think they just make it complicated.

It was a reseller so maybe stuff varies but Man I was afraid of that. I had paid $180 for the dud phone so I figured $150 each out the door wasn't horrible....

I'd love to not get ripped of if I go back for more phones, which I will if Costco has more stock.

Here is how I recall it being broken down. Where did I go wrong?

$50 phone
$36 tax phone
$50 phone
$36 tax phone
$25 activation line 1
$15 activation line 2
$80 plan
$7 insurance line 1
$0 waived insurance line 2

Math adds to 292... I think there was some tax on the activation or something too
Hmm your taxes were extremely high. Perhaps they based it off the full value of the phone. My total tax for everything was $11 for some reason

Does anyone know if this deal is getting extended past the 27th? Hoping they get some 256GB models in store, only seem to have 64GB...

Also if i was to get the iPhone 11 128GB for $679, do they still send you $700 if you turn in an iPhone 7 and above? Or will they just give you the amount of the phone if it's under $700..

I was in the same boat. I ended up getting the iPhone 11 on a new T-Mobile account with just 1 line. The cheapest eligible plan is the essentials plan and is around $65 per month. I did the math and even if I have to keep the plan active for 3 months to get the rebate card and get the phone unlocked from T-Mobile, that turns out to be about $350 for the iPhone 11 64gb. That's still $400 less than what I would pay at the apple store.

I bought two 64 GB iPhone 11 with this deal. At the time told the representative my exact intentions: I would be back if they got more stock to exchange.

They got more stock, and I went in to exchange for the 128 GB version and pay the difference. New rep now says that if I exchange the phone it will cancel the deal and I will not get the $700.

Stuck with first phone as I do not want to risk losing the $700. I wish these reps could figure out the terms of their promotions so that we know what can and cannot be done.

So much wasted time.

Whomever *knows* at T-Mobile / Costco likely isn't going to say.

It might, it might not.

We shall find out tomorrow.
