If it's a repost, if's the 1st I've seen of it.

The $280 costco deal is dead, but I agree it was probably one of the best deals on a laptop this year

However, since it's dead we will have to compromise with others

That being said, this $400 is not bad considering you won't have to spend the time to upgrade memory (8GB walmart vs 4GB costco) and SSD (256GB walmart vs 128GB costco). it also has a 16GB optane ssd for whatever reason LMAOLMAOLMAO

however the 1366x768 res is probably a deal killer (vs 1080p costco).

The semi-redeeming factor is that someone in Walmart wrote a review that they got the i5-1035G7 (Iris Pro graphics).

G7/G4 = Iris Pro
G1 = Regular Intel HD

I think Costco deal will be available again on Black Friday.

it is an expired deal. https://slickdeals.net/f/13524451-costco-members-hp-14-laptop-i3-1005g1-4gb-ddr4-128gb-ssd-win-10-s-280-free-shipping

however, i think we may see the deal come back soon, maybe even this week, because my costcos have tons of these in inventory and they are unlikely to sell them at $399

While the $280 Costco deal was on, they had this same laptop too for the same $399 price. Most chose the $280 one with the better i5 G4, 4GB RAM and 128 GB SSD instead of this i5 G1, 8GB RAM and 256GB then but now that the deal is dead, it might be better to pick up the Costco model if its still at $399 as the Costco version has a 1080p IPS screen.

*** Edit ***
https://www.costco.com/hp-14-lapt...11810.html

Today is the last day and its sold out online but a lot better deal with the 1080p screen than this one from Wally world.

The Costco ones even if the $280 price comes back will likely come with an i3 processor now. They started shipping and stocking them with i3s instead of the unannounced i5 upgrades last week.

I'm debating if I should get one of these HP 14 laptops or a refurbed Acer Swift 3. Both would have i5 processors, 8 gb RAM, & 256 ssd. Price difference is +200 for the Acer.

I use my computer constantly for 3 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon. I'm moving room to room and can't plug it in during that time. I need either a battery that lasts the whole day or one that recharges enough during my lunch break to get me through the afternoon. Do you guys have any advice?
