In my search I also found out that all these canon printers usually come with half cartridges in the box meaning they have capacity of around 600 some odd pages
I looked up non-branded cartridges on amazon seems to be around $80-90 for the set of 4 vs the single $70 OEM cartridges.
I just searched all this so do correct me if I'm wrong.

The deal is still valid at Bestbuy. The printer is for $170
It does have some quirks, probably ID-10T issues, like printing sometimes causes the tray selection to come up, and every once and a while it kicks on then back off. For the first month there was also something (probably lubricant) burning off, causing an odor. That's gone now, and everything works great.
