Black Friday deal active online now!!
In store on Nov 28th @ 5pm.
Also you will get a Free Echo dot (3rd gen) with purchase.

Watch your favorite shows with this Insignia 58-inch 4K LED TV. The screen measures 58 inches diagonally for an immersive experience and content that's easy to see from even the back of the room, while the 4K resolution offers detailed images. This Insignia 58-inch 4K LED TV has a 60Hz panel for smooth frame rates.

All other sizes in this UHD 4K TVs line up have really good reviews but this one only has two reviews, I can't find the manufacture date but I'm assuming it's relatively new.

Hello all, haven't encounter this issue

I read on one's review comment though that it's a common issue on fire tvs and may have to do with the small storage size. Anyways, apparently the fix is clearing cache from os and apps...... Hope that helps

I am not in front of my TV, but I assume the "clear cache" thing would be in the storage menu, correct? Or is it like the older versions of android where you had to hold down six buttons at once , reboot, wait for a full moon and then finally get the special cache clearing menu Smilie

EDIT: I should add, my tv (2nd one , first one i warrantied out) has the audio issues about once a week. So far, we just plug in and remove a headphone from the jack and it fixes it. But the cache method sounds much better. Although my son thought he was a hot shot when he did the headphone thing and fixed it Smilie

For anyone still reading this post I tried using the RTINGS calibration settings and didn't like them so I searched and found this - https://www.amazonforum.com/s/que...edition-tv

Picture Mode
Custom

Contrast
100

Brightness
-10

Color
12

Tint
-7

Sharpness
-25

Advanced Settings

White Balance, Color Temperature - Standard
Red 8
Green 14
Blue 15

Gamma -5

Dynamic Backlight - Off
Dynamic Contrast - Off
MPEG - On
Edge Enhancer - On

I really like these settings especially since it brings out the white color much more so I wanted to share it. Hope this helps someone else.

I added the adjustment link to the Wiki.

And just tested the settings, it does pop out the colors just like the TV's on displays.
Not sure if these are accurate or would want to keep it in the long run.
But I will try it for a while. Thanks!

Came across your post. Does the clear cache method work for you?

So short answer no, but... I searched through all settings and the only thing I could find for cache was in the apps menu, there was a clear cache for each app. I did notice that I was getting close to maxing out the TV storage, but I could not find a way to remove the built in apps. I cleared as many of the caches as I could, but I still had the sound issue again. I have not noticed that it is any one app, but randomly happens one every 2 weeks or so. We just now keep a 3.5mm headphone cord near the tv, and when it cuts out, simply plug in and remove the cord and it works just fine. This happened to both of the tvs I had , so it must be some known issue. For the price that we got the tv @, I am ok with having to do this. Overall a great tv!

My experience after 15 months of usage. 39" version of Insignia Fire TV.

I would not recommend this fire tv in any size. Wi-Fi connects/disconnects while playing various streams. The same streams play just fine on my first version of the fire tv stick. Native Display quality is quite poor...display looks sharper and better when connected fire tv stick or roku is playing...

Fire TV reboots quite often while playing streams.

All in all, I would not recommend this fire tv. Just buy a stand alone tv and then use fire tv stick. Much better option.

Mine has been working great. The Fite TV can be a little slow but I actually use it more than the Roku ultra I have connected to it. I am hardwired into it so I wouldn't know about any wifi issues.

The picture quality seems great to me. It's not OLED quality but it is better than most other screens around this price point (the regular price not sale price)

The picture on ours is good, but I am ready to throw it out the window with the damn audio problem lol! We taped a 3.5mm headphone cord to the back of it, and have to plug it in and unplug it every couple of days when the sound goes out. The first one we got did this, so I did a warranty swap for this one. And it still does it. I have no idea why that headphone trick works, but it is an incredible pain. Also, the HBo app is awful. It causes the tv to reboot more or less everytime when we use it. If i plug a roku in, it works great.

Has anyone else had the audio issue and/or what did you do to fix it? I have cleared out the cache on all the apps, and removed as many as I could. I did notice I only have 400mb of space left, so that could be the issue, but there is not much more I can uninstall on this. When the TV works, it is great however, lol!

I've had mine set up to a receiver through the ARC HDMI port and haven't had any audio problems.

I never actually used the TV speakers.

Here is more info on the issue. The Fire TV Wi-FI gets disconnected from the router every 90seconds or so. I can watch access time on my router for all the connected devices. The Fire TV sticks that I have remained connected continuously (their access time continues to increase as time goes by). This Fire TV disconnects every 90s or so which resets its access time back to 0.

Some streams allow buffering and they would work with the TV since it does reconnect after 5-10s on its own. However, there are many other streams that just disconnects instantly which is very annoying. Also, buffering makes watching streaming quite annoying.

Read somewhere on Reddit that the wifi adapter in the TV gets hot and disconnects. Maybe a known issue.

Thanks for the details! That would make sense given the amount it does a disconnect/reset mid-stream. It is a shame since this TV is (for me at least) great otherwise, i.e. good picture, nice sound, fairly responsive UI etc.. Oh well, in the greater context, it is a minor annoyance, and my and my family's' good health/happiness is much more important.

Thanks. The saying "Health is Wealth" resonate louder than ever now. Stay safe.

I would like to try out ethernet connection. My TV is in on the 1st floor and WiFI router is on the 2nd floor. Any suggestions for LAN connectivity? Ethernet over powerline? Can I use lan connection from a 2nd router that is will act as a repeater to the main router? Any other suggestions for creating strong, reliable LAN connection?

Thx

Wow, I am an idoit, lol! So for starters, I did not realize this tv had a lan connection! and secondly, i have access to run a line and a spare 50' amazon basic ethernet line. I will run the line tonight and see if that helps anything. I will let the experts weigh in on your specific question Smilie

Thanks!

You can use a second router as a wireless bridge if your router supports it.
