Just wanted to share this, as for some reason this is rarely mentioned in the online reviews. Perhaps Garmin loyals are used to 10-year old display tech or perhaps I am spoiled by my S3.
The battery goes for a week or two before it needs charging, depending on how much I use fitness tracking and GPS. The GPS and maps are fun and useful most of the time.
One caveat - don't make it your only source of location information when you're in the backcountry because the GPS is hit and miss. Most of the time it's fine but I've definitely seen it reflect my position well off of the mark, especially while backpacking in canyons. I've heard the 5 plus series and 6 series improved GPS and HR, and someday I'll upgrade and find out for myself!

If I didn't absolutely need music during workouts this is a good deal combined with cash back?

If you are looking to get one just for running the 245 would be the base model to look for. Great watch. If you want more bells and whistles there a lot of options
