    From what I understand you can lock the sliding mechanism to make it sturdier as well as using a 10" blade (with a bit of wood under the cut to make up the difference) to further cut down on slop.

    I have my DWS780 on the way, and a Makita 10" blade I got from an Amazon deal to try this on. Obviously not an experienced woodworker here but did a lot of forum research into ways to make this more stable for smaller cuts.

    When the switch for the shadow light is in the on position, the light should stay on the whole time, until the switch is turned off.

    This kind of ticks me off. I know my local stores still have them in stock; they're just terrible at keep their database updated so the website always shows the wrong quantities. Since the store is closed until 6am tomorrow when they re-open, I can't visit to pick one up. I'm guessing the sale ends tonight as well.
