Nobody cares that there are USB ports of any kind on the front of the unit. We care that the unit works reliably. I have 3 APC units and 2 no longer produce a charging voltage high enough to charge new batteries. I went with a cyberpower lx1500 as a replacement. It's been fine so far, but only time will tell.

One of the reasons I went with the cyberpower is that it uses common batteries. I'm not so sure the APC in this post does, so just be aware you may need to only buy APC batteries, if that matters to you. Please correct me if I'm wrong. (see below, looks like it probably uses common batteries)

I was excited about this deal when I first saw it but then I remembered all my issues with APC in the past.

Edit: drinkingbird later in the comments said that they do believe it is a typical battery.

Also something else to consider is that not many devices actually need a pure sine wave. Although, $142 is a good price for a 1500va unit, whether that it is simulated sine wave or not.
I use CyberPower 1500 pure sine - they pop up yearly on Newegg for around $130-150.

Been using them religiously for 4 years and haven't had a single issue and haven't even had to replace a battery yet.

They are beasts!

This should be front page.
I have an older 1350W pure sine wave model from APC. I love it.

Anyone know if it uses any proprietary batteries or battery connectors?
Been waiting too long for the Cyberpower 1500VA deal. and this one has USB-C charging port.

Pulled the trigger. Figure shipping date won't be till next week, so time to cancel if it turns out to not be worthwhile.
