Warning: Arlo Pro is not designed to be an intruder alert system. It is not a substitute for a security alarm system. It is a supplemental remote video monitoring system that may or may not give the owner more information after he has been alerted of an intrusion by a security alarm system or alarm monitoring service.

Inexpensive portable Wi-fi network disruption devices while illegal to use are readily available for under $10 and are being used by thieves to disable wi-fi cameras. Arlo Pro has other vulnerabilities as well.

Compounding the problem is the fact that Arlo Pro is not equipped with "system off-line" notification and does not create any log user login attempts or any log of 'system is down', standard features of any true alarm system.

Arlo Pro unlike the Pro 2 is not high definition and is not capable of recording vehicle license plate numbers.

Arlo Pro is useful for general property and pet monitoring and for creating a record for nuisance abatement.

If you purchased an Arlo Pro system based upon any representation of it as a security alarm system then feel to return it for a full refund, "not as described".

Yes but you have to have a Costco membership plus the base is different. I believe the Amazon base station has a siren and local storage, the Costco one does not.

Thanks! After reviewing this and the Costco deal it is clear the Amazon purchase is better value. For $20 more you get a base station that supports the following additions:

Offline recording
Apple HomeKit support
Compatible with Arlo Pro 3, Pro 2, Pro, Wire-Free, and Arlo Audio Doorbell

Thanks! Although the Costco kit comes with 6 different mounts, the base station does seem to be an older version:

I have one and both cameras broke within 6 months. They just died. The picture quality is awful, a guy broke into my car only 7 feet from the camera in my driveway and you couldn't make out ANY details of his face.i do not recommend arlo.

Why do folks hate Arlo so much? These as bad as reviews might make it seem?

Tempted by the free 7-day backup vs. paid alternatives from even the newest gen Arlo.

Ive got the Arlo Pro 2s and the quality is great and Ive had ZERO issues. Had them almost 2 years now and I've literally never had a problem. Batteries last 2-3 months recording a lot and over 6 months if not recording much. Only takes 2-3 hours to get them fully recharged again.

This is a great deal. If I didn't already have 4 cameras I might bite on this.

I want one, but the reviews of the controlling app are horrible. I bought a Blink XT2 for our vacation house and it's great, but it doesn't allow you to set permissions for additional viewers of the camera. Basically, anybody that can view the cameras on the app can make changes.

I need to be able to set permissions for this house because we're going to be renting it out.
