I got this 8gb hdd recently from previous similar deal. Ordered from Best Buy Google shopping. It was drive model WD80EMAZ according to Crystal Disk Info when I plugged it in usb.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoar...ompendium/

Crystal Disk info told me the drive was WD80EMAZ but I just shucked the drive and it says WD Red NAS Hard Drive model WD80EFAX (red label) on the drive itself. After shucking the drive and inserting in my PC, Crystal Disk Info now sees the HDD as WD80EFAX. So if you use Crystal Disk Info before shucking the drive you might not get an accurate model number like me.
For this with prime credit cards, these are still a tiny bit cheaper at Amazon after taking into account 15% cash back. Either way, solid prices.

Start shucking, boys!!

Nice. Time to make a trip to bestbuy so they dont throw the hdd around during shipping in an improperly packaged box.

Great price, if what previous poster said holds true about red drives being enclosed. I know some are looking to move up in drive size to 12s. THANKS OP.

Just as with processors, there's a reason those drives were put into an environment where there are ensured to under perform.

I guess about as cheap as they're going to get. This is only $10 less than last year.

Can you get 12TB drives for this price/GB or cheaper? *** Edit: Yeah, the 12TB from BestBuy has the same sale and price/GB.

Backblaze kind of skipped 8TB drives and just went in on 12TB. 12TB drives seem expensive though.

Paid $130 2 years ago. Guess only issue is if it is the same red drive or a cheaper one.
