Blu-rays are much harder to scratch than DVDs, should be OK. They have a clear scratch resistant coating that DVDs don't have, it's part of the Blu-ray standard.

The Mummy is a great movie set with cheap paper sleeve packaging. I have this set and it's great but I keep thinking I'll scratch the discs putting them back in the sleeves.

Properly made Blu-rays and UHDs shouldn't scratch from incidental contact like DVDs. You would have to take a nail or razor-sharp edge to create a real scratch on the newer formats.

Make a digital copy with makemkv or AnyDVD etc

I usually transcode once I had the full rip but with how cheap storage is now and how long x265 takes to transcode all of my UHD is uncompressed
