No mention in the description if it's 3D capable or fast enough to game with. Also only 2200 lumens.

All of your questions are answered in this review. [projectorcentral.com] That review, and every other one I could find, awarded the PX727 high marks, especially at its price point. Many excellent, color accurate projectors output in the 2000-2400 lumen range.

"No 3D. To the dismay of 3D fans, many of the new lower priced 4K projectors lack 3D capability, and this is one of them. If you are budgeting below $2000, your 3D + 4K options at the moment are the BenQ HT2550 at $1499 and the Epson Home Cinema 4000 at $1799. Those are two radically different home theater projectors, each with their own set of advantages."

BB has the 747 for $30 more, 3500 lumens via a different wheel. Not necessarily an upgraded model..if it's being installed in a bright room go with 747 and in dim room 727

Wonder how this compared to the cheap 1080p ones showing 1080p content. Since this is fairly low end, is the image quality similar, just paying for 4k?

I'm fairly sure that the 727 outperforms the 747 in all theater situations, while the 747 is better for some presentation uses. I imagine most peeps here looking for a projector would be better suited with the 727.

I bought this last year in July.
The menu, and UI are sluggish.
I've heard that a firmware update might fix the issue. Will Viewsonic update mine for free, or is there a technician fee?
Should I just sell my 727 instead, and get a refurbished ht3550?

I haven't ordered from Newegg in ages! Have they gone down the drain? I still held them in high praises from the past (talking about 8+ years ago when I last built a computer.)

I would trust Newegg above a lot of other sites just make sure the "seller" is Newegg similar to Amazon. I had not bought anything from them in over a year and recently purchased parts to build a couple PC's. A couple pieces had to go back for defect and they made the RMA process simple.

Thanks man. That's really helpful. I literally have never had a bad experience with them. The only reason I stopped using them was because I didn't find their pricing as competitive as they once used to be.

Wow great trend that 4K projectors are finally below 1k.
I may buy one in the coming months.

I need a good business projector that will show up even in rooms with too much light. Will this cut it? Any suggestions?

I think you want something above 3000 lumens for that. If 4k isn't a requirement you could save about $400 by going with a 1080 model. That should suffice for PowerPoint etc. Just my experience.
