Chase Checking & Savings $900 Bonus Offer

I'm not sure if this was targeted or not. It was an offer under my Marriott Chase credit card account. You get $900 cash back when you open a checking and savings account through the link. Sure the interest rates are crap...but once you get your $900 after 3 months, you can close accounts and move elsewhere. Seems like a killer deal...unless I'm missing something? https://accounts.chase.com/consum...px=PT22272

"To receive the $300 checking bonus: 1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval; AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Chase Quickpay® with Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the $200 savings bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval; 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 20 business days of account opening; AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the date of deposit. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the extra $400 bonus: You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new checking account within 10 business days."

Setup a direct deposit of $500 a month or have a balance of over $1500 to avoid fees on checking. And maintain balance of over $300 on savings to avoid fees.

I did the saphire checking deal and I have the saphire reserve credit card in the past with an existing checking and it gave 60k ultimate reward points but those redeam as 900 in travel on the chase travel site if you have the reserve. I then downgraded the checking back to the el cheapo free one and transfered the funds out lol. I calculated the lost interest and it worked out in my favor.

Id like to hear if there is a way to stack these two deals now and if a coupon code is needed to collect both. Wife could claim the bonuses. Oh on the cheap chase savings an easy way to avoid the fee is have an automatic trasfer move 25 bucks back and forth every month. When you downgrade the accounts it stays the same with the same account number. Just the fees and perks change.
I had the old stacked. I took as dollar instead of points on Sapphire. But it has to be done on bank, not online and the banker was helpful in doing.

Do you know if when we file taxes, the bonus need to be reported? And about points does it need to be reported as well? When you say move 25, how did you do? I need to downgrade the Sapphire checkin to regular. Wife got normal chase account, so no luck for another bonus for us.

Just log in on a computer...chase has rolling advertisements just under your statement balance on each card. I just clicked back and forth between the two cards until the $900 offer showed up.

I just did this the other day to get the $900 bonus. I did this 2 years ago and only got $600 bonus. Closed that account after I've gotten my bonus.

Now, this $900 bonus First, make sure you don't have a savings or checking account with Chase, otherwise, you're disqualified. You'd need to deposit $15K within 20 days of opening your SAVINGS ACCOUNT and maintain that amount for 90 DAYS. I wasn't able to do the $15,000 money transfer from another bank because of the large sum amount. Had to do that inside the bank with a check. Ymmv with this step.

2nd, open a new checking account and set up a direct deposit. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A DIRECT DEPOSIT made to your checking account within 90 days of opening. It doesn't specifically say how much the amount has to be for the direct deposit for each month. I just put $50 for each pay check. Direct deposit, according to the terms, "need to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to person payments such as Chase Quick Pay with Zelle, are not considered a direct deposit. I also put in $1500 into my checking account upon opening the account to avoid that $12 monthly service fee. There are other ways to avoid their monthly service fee, but the $1500 was the simplest, for me.

So, you will get a $900 bonus if you open a new saving and checking account and you do what I've mentioned above. According to the $900 bonus terms, they will deposit that $900 into your checking account within 10 business days.

PM me if you need that $900 coupon code.
I would think you could just do several lower amount transfers into the savings to meet the $15k minimum...it doesn't say you have to have a single $15k transfer.

Also, for the direct deposit I saw the same wording that it requires a paycheck basically. I'm still going to try the bank to bank transfer from WF to see if that works (you'll know in 2 weeks if you don't get the $300 bonus). If that doesn't work I'll change my work direct deposit. But it sounds like several on here have gotten the bonus just from a bank transfer.

Remember, you only have 20 days to deposit $15K into your new saving account. And You're right, I could have done several bank transfers in smaller amounts totaling $15K. 😂

When I did this promo 2 years ago for the $600 bonus, I opened it inside my local Chase bank. They told me the direct deposit HAS TO BE from my PAYCHECK. A bank transfer would not qualify as a direct deposit. Also, back then, there was another requirement to the direct deposit. If I remember correctly, there was a minimum of $500 requirement each month for 3 months. As per this $900 bonus, there was no mention of how much is required, right? It just says set up direct deposit is required. What do you think?

Okay...got through another 60 or so requests and all caught up again. Once again, many are sending me PM's without your email address. Can't do anything for you; I need your email address to send the $900 code!

Pretty slick deal if you ask me...I've earned the SD community (and cost Chase bank) ~200 codes sent * $900 each = $180,000! Keep them coming.

I think the $600 Bonus did have a $500 minimum Direct Deposit--are you sure this doesn't have the same amount or is it just for the "no fees part" I'd probably do a $500 just to be on the safe side.

Yeah good point...need to remember the 20 day timeline to get all $15k into savings, no matter how you do it.

For the checking "direct deposit" it's just within 90 days. So I'll see soon since I opened and transfered from my WF into Chase. If I get the $300 bonus within 10 business days, then apparantely it worked! If I don't get anything, then I'll have to go the work direct deposit path. Point being, there is 3 months time to get that single deposit cosher with Chase. The only reason to keep depositing monthly is to avoid account fees (or just keep minimum $1,500 in the account to avoid fees).

Looks like the information page is down at Chase??? Any ideas of where to find it.
Also ==are you sure that there is no amount requirement on the Direct Deposit??
The $600 one did have a $500 minimum
I've read through all the T&C several times, there is no amount requirement on the direct deposit...the only thing you want to do is avoid account fees. You can either direct deposit $500 monthly, or just keep an account balance of $1,500 to avoid fees. I plan to do just a single direct deposit of $1500, and let it sit. You'll know in 10 days if Chase didn't think it was correct (and you don't get your $300 bonus) and can try a different deposit method.

You are correct on this. When I am on my chase website, the $900 bonus ad pops up. This is before logging into my account. That is also why I didn't think this $900 bonus was targeted. All I had to do was click on it to apply. The special $900 code was automatically included on my application. But I also had this promo in the mail with the special code.

I'm glad you confirmed the $500 direct deposit requirement each month for the $600 bonus back then. 👍 As for this $900 bonus, there was no mention of how much a direct deposit needs to be. All it said was a direct deposit is required within 90 days of you opening the account. REMEMBER FOLKS, THE DIRECT DEPOSIT NEEDS TO BE TO YOUR "CHECKING ACCOUNT", not savings.
