I'm not sure if this was targeted or not. It was an offer under my Marriott Chase credit card account. You get $900 cash back when you open a checking and savings account through the link. Sure the interest rates are crap...but once you get your $900 after 3 months, you can close accounts and move elsewhere. Seems like a killer deal...unless I'm missing something?

Thanks. Just want to confirm, No need to keep high balance if combine balance is over 5000 to avoid fees.
The Teller at the local branch couldn't help with this problem so I had to sit on the couch and wait for an account manager. The account manager had to call someone to find out why my account was locked. I was told that the amount of the transfer was too high and that I needed to bring a certified check into the branch to fund the account. I explained to them that this was THEIR requirement to fund the account and pointed out the insanity that they couldn't accept the transfer.
So I transferred the money, with no problem, from my online bank to my primary physical bank. I went to that physical branch to get a cashiers check written to MY name. By making it out to my name I did not incur a fee for the certified check. Then I took the certified check to the physical Chase branch and was able to deposit it.
They certainly made me work for that bonus. They couldn't tell me what their ACH limit was.. and only said that I couldn't fund the account through ACH... I've since looked it up online and found that Chase has a $10,000 limit per transaction and $25,000 per day.. which is actually really good compared to other banks. I guess that movie stuff where the criminal transfers millions of dollars into an offshore account from a computer is BS... LOL.
