EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Thanks, that worked. Better cancelled my application since I didn't lock within 30 days (which is literally all their fault as they simply do not respond to emails), so I get to try it again.

Better.com rates have been high compared to other lenders. How are people still going with Better ? I get there is $2500 credit, it seems like a wash compared to other lenders.

Because they also price match and beat the other by $1000. You are looking for $3500 cheaper vs other lender after 2500 Amex credit. ^.^

Interestingly my person told me at Better that if I was taking advantage of the Amex offer, I couldn't also get the $1,000. Seems like that was BS?

What do you mean? Locked last week 3.125 with 1800 lender credit
You should have a float down policy. If the FRED rate changes by .25 or more they would float you down to 3% for the same price.

Do you know how much does it cost -the processing fee ? If AMEX is credting 2500, then Better.com is more likely charging you 5K. My credit union charge $600 processing fee.

Thank you! Was better beating a rate you found with another mortgage company because their advertised rates are much higher?

ooh yea, sorry i missed a important detail. I actually got a loan estimate from so-fi first and better was able to beat it. but i still say the title fees are a little high. so im going to go back to so-fi and see if they can beat better. if they can, then ill take that estimate back to better, and see if they can beat it!

Shopped around first, got a good estimate from Owning Mortgage (California only unfortunately), and used Better's price match. They beat my previous estimate by $700+.

My rep said he couldn't price match. I live in OH and my mortgage amount is less than 150k. Rep said he can't given the amount of loan.
