EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Does better.com service loans after closing or do they sell servicing to someone else?

I sent better an email asking if they could match the Title related fees in my LE from other vendor. They added the difference to my lender credit. Worth a try to see if they can do the same for you.
I did that and told them verbal quote I got from my then current title company. They matched it by giving me lender credit of the difference. When I got my CD the title insurance cost was about $200 less than quoted price (that I gave them to match). I think It saved me ~$400.

Going on 4 weeks since I locked and 2 weeks since title report was received and my loan it's still waiting to clear title (due to waiting on deed as we had to change vesting). Really frustrating especially when title fees are $1,226 ($550 insurance, $550 settlement, $126 deed prep). Processor keeps saying the issue has been escalated so they can reach out to title. Is there anything else that can be done?

I ended up chosing Lenderfi over Better. Lenderfi provided me with a lower rate on a 30yr and the closing costs were slightly lower. Net net in 2 years the lower rate will save me more than the 2500 from Amex.

Did you ask if Better can match the lower rate LenderFI gave you?

Unfortunately I can't use either Better or Lenderfi here in Nevada. Anybody have a suggestion on who I should refinance with? Thanks in advance!

Of course. They could not match the rate.

That would be a very good reason to take the offer at the other lender. Presumably, you mean they couldn't match the rate w/o comparably points to buy down the rate + lender credits?

In my case, I had them compete with a 2.875% $1,300 closing costs credit union loan. They couldn't beat it, or even match it, but came close with that rate at $1,450. It was a more expensive loan, but I proceeded with Better as the Amex promo brought me ahead in the end.

You are better off waiting for rates to come back down than taking this credit. Although I see it only starts in July, interesting. By then it may be a good play.

Hi asked this few pages ago asking again just in case anyone knows! Has anyone had luck using the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card for this credit as eligible?

At what point after you lock in a rate do they ask for you to verify your card number again.

Have to escrow now though but not a big deal
