EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Just the usual - found a lender on Zillow and PM'd + $1K to better. Lender was at 2.75 with no points for my scenario, so did 2.875 to cover closing costs and some of escrow.

When in the closing process did you get the task to enter your Amex card number? After closing disclosures were sent?
Mine was 1 day after better received my title report (and cleared the title report the same day)

Did you actually see 2.75 on Zillow's rate search or did you pick a lender and contact to find out that rate?

I'm not seeing rates anywhere near that.

You'll generally have to send in an application or two to get a loan estimate. I watch Zillow multiple times a day to see what the outlier companies will be. Find something decent, send in a few apps, and if you want to, PM each other.

I saw the 2.75% rate on AL - but what made me apply was better was the second lowest rate, so I guessed they would match. Have plenty of personal Amex cards, will pick a different one this time.
