EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I have an interesting situation. Better matched competitor last week. I paid for the appraisal and locked rate in with better. Appraiser is coming out tomorrow. Today compeitor reached out and offered better rate % and $2500 credits to beat better. I guess i should postpone the appraisal with better? Will i get refunded for appraisal if i dont go with better? Im obviously goin to try and get bettter to match.

All,

I got a better rate and lender credit from a competitor, sent it to Better to match the rate. They will match but the rep is referring to the $2500 credit and matched minus the $2500. In this case, should I rather go with the competitor? Any body ran into this situation? Thanks
Could I ask whom did you send the LE for updating the rates? is it the concierge or Processing Expert or Closing Expert?

These rates seem just... OK? Zillow Mortgages is offering more competitive deals right now through places like Sebonic or whoever

Which one is better -
lender credits $3600 at 3.0 (no points)
Lender credits ~$800 at 2.875 (no points)
Points -$3000 at 2.75 (6600$ delta from first option)
Of course 2.5k Amex on top.
720 k loan on a condo primary.

One thought is to close at 3.0 and redo refinance later again and buy max points to get to 2.75 or even less next time( using money I am putting in pocket this time )?.

Now Better is including the $2,500 when matching competitors and only providing $100 when they cannot beat a competitor? Yeah, this deal seems like it's dying fast. If you didn't get something locked in already you may be out of luck.

Hi, he is a concierge, not sure what his expertise is in, but definitely not in negotiation Smilie

Below is his details, good luck.

We provide the credit statement. The Credit statement goes to your AMEX card. I will not be able to provide any more lender credits because I maxed out the concessions I can give. This is our best offer.

Seems like I'll be dropping Better, been dealing with them for a week and my concierge was not responsive on emails. I sent a loan estimate and they refused to match because they only look at LE's less than a day old. What? Had to get another LE, I sent that one and again concierge has not been responsive, I had to schedule a call for today, we'll see how that goes but not looking good so far.

I had the same issue.. took around 12 phone calls to finally get them to Look at the third LE and beat it. Was a total pain, but locked in now, so hopefully it goes well.

Nice. When did you lock? With all others saying they are taking into account the $2,500 credit now on match, I'm not optimistic they will actually beat the LE I sent.

Those are better rates than I saw, maybe because your loan is bigger? What's your credit - mine is an OK 757 Fico8.
