EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

What credit score do you need in order to get best rate on a 30-year fixed? I've got 745 and only got 3.375% with $1487 points.

I mean.... Do you really think rates are going to shoot up over night? I'll admit I did refi too quickly but I made $3k on it, got rid of PMI and lowered my rate by .50%. I thought Better sucked for what it's worth. If it wasn't for the $2500, I wouldn't even have given them a chance.
Right. I think other lenders also have an online system that will let you submit almost all information there, and most importantly, has a better rate! Only go there for the AMEX 2500.

How are you guys getting loan estimates from lenders?. All I am getting are rate sheets even after applying and them doing a credit pull. Do we get LE only after locking the rate and start submitting documents?
All except one of the handful I did sent me an LE. I think 1 or 2 did not do it right away, but with one email they did. Loan Cabin is the only one that did not.

Have you sent them competing LE's? that is the only I found to get lower rates out of any of them.

Did anyone got 0 point 2.25% or 2.375% 15 yr deal from any lender other than Better?

Also, any deal on Title services in PA? They all hover around 1900-2200 range.

WHERE TO GET QUOTES:

I was able to do online quotes with LE's from each of these.
Better.com
LenderFi
Mr Cooper
Citizens
Figure
HomeFinity
AIM
LoanCabin - their own version of LE - never got a real one - maybe because I sent my close to final one from Better and they opted to not bother.

I did full application online. And they all did hard credit pulls.

Yes, 0 point. Actually, it was $9 credit.

To get LE from LenderFi, you need to submit application. And the loan officer will (or at least supposed would) send you one.

Try Watermark Home Loans and Radian for title. I am also in PA. I know people have said Radian is closed for residentials, but I called the 800 number, sent an email, and had a quote within minutes.

Is it 14 days or 30 days to have multiple hard pulls for the same reason only count as one pull? I always thought it was 30 days, but credit karma is telling me it's 14

Damn that's good. I applied fully with ssn and hard pull and got 1.20 points LE for 2.25% rate for refi. excellent credits and LTV ratio less than 55%

I got 2.25% with 0 points and a $350 lender credit. Better couldn't beat or even match it, but I still come out ahead after the Amex credit.

If you're unlucky enough to be assigned the infamous person at better.com mentioned earlier in this thread, then you're out of luck. He doesn't respond, and doesn't match. I sent him the LE 5 min after I received it. I called, texted, messaged. Luckily was able to find a slot free the next day and setup a call. He finally looked at the LE, and like was mentioned for several folks here, factored in the $2500 while "matching" the competing LE, and even after that better was $500 short. (i.e a total of $3000 off). Any talk of "beating by $1000" is a joke. The worst part is how he made me wait for a task that clearly he spent a grand total of 2 minutes on, and tried to justify how better was better.

FYI - perfect credit score. LTV 50%. Good loan amount. Multiple lenders offered me the same rate that better missed by 3k. Rates have stayed at historic lows for a whole week now. Just not worth the aggravation and the chance of missing what you already have if rates go up.
Who is this infamous person?
