EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

so my home insurance will not be within 60 days of closing and better gave a task for renewing it and providing proof. Mine gets paid through escrow currently and i cannot renew it myself.

Any one went through this and suggestions on what to do?
Pay it. Your insurance company will send you a check if escrow also pays it later, or sometimes escrow won't pay it because the amount owed will be zero. I always pay my homeowners insurance myself even though escrow is supposed to do it (I do if for credit card points), and both of the scenarios is I just described have happened.

No issues paying but when i go online, it says my payment is through escrow and doesnt give me the option to pay.

Also can you list better on the policy in addition to the current mortgage now? I would think better wants to be on the insurance before the close right?

Oh interesting. I have always been able to pay mine. Maybe try calling and just let them know you're ok with the possibility that it will be double paid and you getting a refund later.

At some point later in the process better calls your insurance and substitutes themselves for whoever is already on there. My insurance called me to approve that.

flyersruleThat's a pretty killer deal. Depending on how much the closing costs are such as title fees ETC you could make out real well.
They do have lock fee $750 that is refunded back at closing but no points.

Sorry for asking this if it was answered earlier. When we get matched with better.com where our closing costs results in us getting the money without having to pay anything using the Amex card, would we still get the statement credit of 2500?

Better is telling me they don't do 2.625 on 30 years which is one reason they won't match my offer.
they say that when they cant match.

Gotta be careful with the interpretation. His loan/month is ~1000 which suggests to me he has a very low LTV. You can get much better rates if you are ~50% mark...which many of us don't have. Most of us can't use this as a benchmark even for 2.625.%

sebonic could only do 2.875 for that rate today. I think no points and no credit from lender...was your loan amount >300K?
Yes, it's > 300K
