No returns or exchanges from Newegg. Poor quality control from Asus. My wi-fi didn't work in my Asus laptop and their warranty department gave me the run around. I remember when I finally convinced them to replace the wi-fi and mail it in to them, they gave me a refurbished wi-fi board which worked, but scratched the laptop all over.

I would never buy Asus again. By the way, Asus is short for Pega-asus (like the mythical unicorn) like it is named after, and it is pronounced in the same way. Too bad their computers aren't as good as the origin of their name.

Is this a good deal?

not asking sarcastically. I literally am out of touch with how much a good laptop is since it's been a few years

The specs are much better on this one compared to the one I saw a few months ago on SD. It was on sale for $499 which was a great price considering it was normally $749.00.

Not a bad deal, still sticking with the Lenovo I purchased with the 2060, i7 and 17 inch display at 144hz, only downside is the 8gb of ddr4 which can be upgraded so no problem.

Liked the 17" Asus Tuf FX705DT DR7N8 Ryzen 7 3750H GeForce GTX 1650 better last week for only $650 or $600. I elected to get one for $600 that was Open Box Geek Squad Certified that was as good as the two new ones also purchased for $650 - a super deal.

GTX 1650 is so much worse than an RTX 2060

It's amazing specs for the price but people are mentioning that Asus has bad quality control and Newegg doesn't accept returns

I agree its not an advanced level GPU but it was an easily affordable gaming laptop for a whopping $370 less with a CPU having better benchmarks. It played every game thrown at it for just $600. For $970 I'd expect the high level GPU to be matched with a CPU on par with it's advanced graphics like an i7 rather then one with benchmarks lower then a laptop having the GTX 1650. You're paying $370 more and only getting the RTX 2060.

The RTX 2060 literally gets double the performance of the GTX 1650.

Have fun playing RDR2 at 30 fps. A $300 Xbox One X can manage those numbers, so I guess you overpaid by $300?

Newegg is shady as hell. I tried to return a mechanical keyboard and it was covered under their Holiday Return policy..............they'd only offer me a gift card.

The 3550h gets roughly similar benchmark scores to an i7 7700hq and i7 6700hq. It basically is on par with mobile i7s. And since mobile GPUs are generally weaker than desktop GPUs even for the same model series, you're really not going to hit a cpu bottleneck.

well, amd hasn't got any mobile cpu with 6+core at this time so they can't do much more than i5-8300h (no i7 8th gen+ H cpu equivalence).... hard to believe since they have been doing really well with multicore desktop cpu
