Dick's "Sporting Goods" lost my business when their CEO decided to start taking political stances against their customers, and destroyed a quarter of a billion dollars worth of inventory.
Frankly, I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit against the CEO for breach of fiduciary duty.

The CEO of a sporting goods store with a large customer base of hunters and sportsmen took a strong anti-gun stance, destroyed many of their guns, and alienated a lot of people.
A CEO has a legal obligation called a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the company owners (shareholders), not act as a social benefit/political organization, or any other purpose. Failure to do so is a breach of trust, and a personal civil liability for the CEO.
The idea is similar to a lawyer or some financial advisors. They're obligated to act in your best interest, not according to what would be easier for them, or according to their personal beliefs on a particular matter. If they're unable to fulfill their duty, they should step down.
