I'm having problems with the Activation Troubleshoot, getting a message "unable to reach activation server." Tried to do the produckey and Change Key but Windows doesn't recognize the key as a valid one. This one might be going back.
Had the same issue with mine I thought the key was in the bios but wasn't. Thought maybe the bios update I did wiped it. Did you update the bios before reinstalling windows?

I updated the BIOS after the initial Windows 10 setup had finished. I didn't check if Windows was activated prior to the BIOS updated, and my Microsoft account does not have this Windows 10 license added.

For anyone wondering, I'm on the latest Linux Mint Cinnamon 64 bit 19.2 with the 5.3 Kernel working perfectly, make sure you update the kernel manually as Linux Mint comes with 4.5 kernel I believe stock. When I initially installed it without updating the kernel, my display would be stuck at 800x600, after updating and rebooting, my screen came scaled correctly to 1080p
Did you install it on the SSD? Dual boot? What instructions did you follow? Did you change any settings in the BIOS or Mint startup?

I tried to make a live boot USB using rufus, but not getting very far. Gets past Grub menu and starts, but stalls out after about a dozen lines in the startup.

Anyone know if its possible to have the keyboard backlight stay on while plugged in? Annoying how quick it turns off.

Is anyone with the required knowledge willing to add a USB C ZYPDS board in lieu of the standard AC jack? I'm going to do some more research and might give it a try. Obviously won't work for data or display as thats past any knowledge i would have. Chime in if you can

Imo the nvme is most important upgrade. Will make you new PC lightning fast on boot up and all areas
What software do you use to swap the boot to the nvme

havent thought of this. I don't see why it wouldn't work..not a bad idea if it does. Can keep it in your laptop bag for convenience

However, i was thinking something for a long these lines
https://www.ebay.com/itm/274043694597?

You seem to have the better suggestion though. Anyone know if it will work?

EDIT: Found it as long as you can get 65Watts out of a power brick and/or powerbank this will work as the normal AC charger would. Our laptop's standard AC charger outputs 19V at ~3.4 Amps to make 65W.

Will pick one of these up for convenience. 12V car charger should be able to charge even if it is slow

I like the external plug more. all the ports on the right side of the laptop are on the same PCB:

it's a lot more tricky to try to replace the intermal ports...

I returned mine and ordered another one. It should be in by Thursday and let you know what I find. Perhaps you can ask for a replacement rather than return and buy again so they honor the price?

Turn off Secure Boot in the BIOS. This is a must for most Linux distros

Received my 2nd black laptop today. The volume out of the box is louder than the silver one i have. Ive updated all drivers on the silver one except for bios. Weird, thought a new driver should be louder, but in this case its the opposite.

Even after i rolled back the driver on the silver, its volume at max is still lower. Anyone else the same?

We're you able to activate it? Just curious as to a potential fix
