Hmm interesting. I reinstalled the os, win 10 auto detected audio, installed the sound blaster app, then installed the driver from the motile site. After that the sound blaster app worked.

I didn't necessarily do it back to back. It was done as I had time to go through the setup of the laptop.
I uninstalled the Soundblaster and the Realtek driver from motilecustomerservice.com. I have the audio working now through Speakers(High Definition Audio Device). No sound through THX Spatial Sound though

Maybe try starting all over. It sucks you have to reinstall the OS but maybe the best option

solved my wireless mouse issue...just changed out the batteries on mouse. i guess the batteries that came w/unit were duds. it never occurred to me because the light on bottom of mouse remained bright after lost connection.

I'm really curious if anyone has figured out how to get "device encryption" to work. That's my one non-negotiable requirement before I can make this laptop my daily driver and I can't seem to figure it out. I was hoping the BIOS update would do it, but no dice.

Edit: Here is the error displayed when checking the encryption status in System Information... "Reasons for failed automatic device encryption: hardware security test interface failed and the device is not modern standby, un-allowed dma-capable bus/device(s) detected" (Must run the System Information app as Administrator to see the error)

Only device encryption I am aware of it bit locker.

But that's a win 10 pro feature?

I followed the instructions here: https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/33596/How-to-use-Bitlocker-on-Windows-10-Home.html

It does have TPM and GPT partitions so you can skip straight to where it has you restart in safe mode.

Anybody else getting really bad battery life when watching YouTube videos? I get about 3.5 hours on on battery saver if I'm mostly watching YouTube on Chrome. However if I'm just doing general web browsing I get about 6 hours. I'm wondering if installing the latest Radeon Software screwed up some optimizations

Battery life has been really bad for me on Chrome. I'm hoping for better optimization once Microsoft releases the new Chromium-based Edge browser in January. With some luck, any changes they make to optimize their new browser, will apply to Chrome as well.

Edit: Notebookcheck.net claimed 7.5hrs of internet browsing in their review, but I haven't seen anything close to that.

Noticed that Chrome reduces battery life.

For anyone who's not happy having to carry another power brick around, it should be possible to use a cheap adapter to charge from a USB Type C PD charger. I measured the plug at 5.5 mm outer diameter and 2.5 mm inner diameter, so this adapter should be the right one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3...8470.html?. I'm not 100% it will work, but I'm getting one we'll see how it goes.

Edit: I'm guessing you'd need at least a 60W PD charger, so don't get this if you only have a phone charger.

FedEx really sucks. It was shipped Dec. 15 and supposed to be delivered Friday, then the status went into "delivery pending" and now it says it'll be here Tuesday.

I'm really wondering if this is a sign that I shouldn't have bought this thing.

Once you receive it, You will like it for sure. This Motile deal is definitely worth the wait from my personal experience. Sorry to hear about fedex delays, it's the busiest season of the year. Besides FedEx going thru some rough time itself.
