The bag and the mouse were in a clear plastic bag. After taking the bag and the mouse out, I found a 10000mAh wireless power bank came with the bundle. Hmm, surprise Christmas gift from Motile. But my lap top still stuck on the full brightness, Fn F11 and F12 can not adjust screen brightness. Anyone have the same issue?

does anyone know what kind./where to get a screw for this laptop? I lost one, and it does make a difference as there are only 6.

Battery life has been really bad for me on Chrome. I'm hoping for better optimization once Microsoft releases the new Chromium-based Edge browser in January. With some luck, any changes they make to optimize their new browser, will apply to Chrome as well.

Edit: Notebookcheck.net claimed 7.5hrs of internet browsing in their review, but I haven't seen anything close to that.
Im using edge beta.

3 hours with 67% full, if that helps. i have 25 tabs open. but Im not watching vids.

Anybody else getting really bad battery life when watching YouTube videos? I get about 3.5 hours on on battery saver if I'm mostly watching YouTube on Chrome. However if I'm just doing general web browsing I get about 6 hours. I'm wondering if installing the latest Radeon Software screwed up some optimizations
isnt vid watching pretty standard to kill battery life? it would destroy my macbook

Same issue with me. Someone asked me to click on the audio icon on right bottom and select troubleshoot audio issues. I think different audio devices came up and THX Spatial Out was selected. I selected the different output. Did not help
Just my two cents, but when I first got the laptop I tried out the THX audio output and it was so quiet that it was basically unusable, I kept it on Realatek.

I tried the Sound Blaster and at first it did nothing, couldn't "detect my output source" or something until I reinstalled the audio drivers, which took like 3 restarts for some reason.. then when I open Sound Blaster it greatly increased the volume (and with that, distortion) of the sound.

Not sure if this helps or add more confusion...

Thanks. Will try this after a few days. Give the laptop a breather Smilie

It should be two restarts are because first it uninstalls the installed audio driver; restart 1; install the new driver; restart. Windows and Restart Smilie

FedEx really sucks. It was shipped Dec. 15 and supposed to be delivered Friday, then the status went into "delivery pending" and now it says it'll be here Tuesday.

I'm really wondering if this is a sign that I shouldn't have bought this thing.
I know what you mean. I'm in a similar situation, maybe even worse.

For the last three days Fedex's tracking site claims the package is "On Vehicle for Delivery" in the morning, only to be changed to "No scheduled delivery date" by late afternoon. They simply lie.

Late/delayed deliveries I can accept. I don't like it but I understand. Outright lies I cannot accept. Fedex's website deliberately lies to us. When I called them, they didn't even know where the package was.

Walmart assumed I received the package last week (based on Fedex's lies, I guess) and sent me a customer satisfaction survey. You can image my response.

Perhaps if more of us complain to Walmart they'll stop using Fedex. I sure hope so, or I'll end buying everything from Amazon.

And like you, I wonder why I even ordered the thing.

Ok? A Youtube video from some unknown youtuber is not a source. The speakers worked with THX settings when I first had my laptop.

Laptop has been a nightmare for me. I started getting those random black screens. Then later got blue screens. Opened it up, but wasn't sure how the lid sensor looks. Tried updating the graphics software along with windows updates. My screen would sometimes go haywire then make a loud screech. Later, couldn't get past the hello screen as it'd just keep loading. Did a windows refresh, then it worked okay but noticed the H and U keyboard keys stopped working. Just about gave up and ordered another one and suddenly it works again. Spent all day working on it yesterday and still unsure if it'll even be stable. When it works, it's great. But now I'm afraid of updating anything and screwing it up.

Can someone post pics of the lid close switch sensor or step by step on how to update the bios? Tried the wiki, but seemed confusing to me. Much appreciated

For anyone who's not happy having to carry another power brick around, it should be possible to use a cheap adapter to charge from a USB Type C PD charger. I measured the plug at 5.5 mm outer diameter and 2.5 mm inner diameter, so this adapter should be the right one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3...8470.html?. I'm not 100% it will work, but I'm getting one we'll see how it goes.

Edit: I'm guessing you'd need at least a 60W PD charger, so don't get this if you only have a phone charger.
Looking at the power banks out there they output 20v you think that would burn out the laptop? Laptop says 19v

Based on my electrical knowledge im going to say it's fine. Granted depending on the amperage, it might charge slower.

As I understand it you have to update the bios to get the basic configuration as default but you lose the ability to adjust the keyboard brightness. Next changing over the wifi is easy. its small kinda in the middle of center some. hopefully you should have the replacement as a guide to its appearance.>peel back the black tape the secures the 2 antennas . Pull the wires straight up not sideways or up or down, just up. pops out easily. Unscrew single screw at bottom and the card kinda springs up at a 45 within the port. pull it out gently along the connection port in parallel, it slides out easily. Ok now reverse everything. I like to use tweezers that are for electronics( no electrical discharge) , dont drop screws on board although they look kinda coated so might not be a problem
