For me, it was doing it randomly, watching youtube, browsing websites etc. I didn't have a specific problem when I went to giphy and it worked fine. I am also on stock drivers with only Windows updates so far.
I am upgrading the drivers to see if if the problem continues.
The only drivers I have installed on mine came directly from AMD for the Ryzen 5 3500u mobile APU driver set. I did not uninstall anything at all, just ran this setup and have had zero problems with chrome freezing since.

Just wondering if anyone's laptop is getting really hot 🔥It only happened twice so far with lightly usage. Other than that no issues at all, really happy with it.

I had some freezing issues not long after I got the laptop, but I did the AMD updates and Windows updates and have had no issues since.

I wouldn't, try and turn off the hard-drive acceleration in Google Chrome's accessibility first.
Thanks! Changed this setting and will see if that works.

I installed these alternate Realtek audio drivers, sounds much better if you're willing to mess around and tweak the settings:

What exactly did this do? Make it louder? made THX better? I uinstalled THX it was too quiet, but on moms black laptop it was loud on THX..go figure.

to those talking about chrome issues - Ive been using microsoft edge for a few weeks, 40 tabs open, no problem. It can lag if you have 2 vids going at once, like it takes a sec or two to "catch up" with the vid, but otherwise everything great. My macbook would probably die lol

also when gaming and itgets really hot, it never auto shut off, like the macbook air did as well.

Anyone else have a hard time opening the laptop, I tried dozens of screwdrivers and not one will open it. The ones that seemed to fit just act like they will strip the screws if i use too much force. I Never had this problem with new computer hardware.

Has anyone been able to play with sound settings? Trying to make it so I can have audio when I plug in headphones but have the laptop muted otherwise. Kinda the way it works with any smart phone. Seems to be a feature in all laptops I have owned too but for some reason I cannot find the settings to make this possible.

I have googled this and everything points at multistreaming options in sound settings but this laptop does not seem to have that.

Much appreciated.

Yea 3/6 of mine got stripped it was a really close call of totally destroying the screws and not being able to ever open it lol.

Instead of putting those back in I got some new ones (just a laptop screw kit off Amazon) and put those in to close it.

I read this in a prior post so I put a tiny bit of oil and wait a few minutes, it was easy to open after that. There was some brownish stuff on some of the screws it may be rust. You can also put wd40 but not too much.
