The THX updater service kicks off the upgrade and can be found in this folder:
C:\Program Files\THX
thx-update-svc.exe should be run as Administrator.
It will connect to the motile website and download all of the update files to C:\Windows\Temp
Once you reboot it will prompt you to update the BIOS.
It will attempt to run
It will reboot your machine after it runs if it is successful, Otherwise the window will just close.
Mine failed with this error code:

Go into Task Scheduler. In the left pane, expand the Task Scheduler library, then go into the THX folder. Under the THX Spatial Audio folder you'll see a task for the THX Update Service. Right click and select disable to stop it from running.
Also curious if anybody's had any negative experience with the new BIOS update. Does it change the model to the M141 or lose the Windows key like the previous updates?

Windows says M142, BIOS says M141, but Windows Key remained

As an aside, the model/manufacturer/etc info in windows can be modified in the registry.
As soon as I shutdown the computer auto restarts.
I've tried turning off fast boot.
Tried shutting down plugged in and unplugged.
When I hold down the power button it does shutdown however I assume that's not good for the machine?
Anyone having this problem or know a fix?

I used BIOS update guide linked in Wiki and flashed App.nsh in the DMI tool folder from Motile website to fix the model number in BIOS. All seems fine so far but with 1.0.6, keyboard light keys still not changing the brightness. It's fine for me but just noting that.
If it's working fine for your needs, no need to update anything. Mine has been the same way - works perfectly for what I do (which is not heavy-duty gaming) and it's been trrouble-free.

Also the BIOS update worked fine on mine. The updater didn't work the first time I ran it but it worked when I restarted it (I believe it auto ran). BIOS shows 1.06 now.
