Side note: What is the key press to get into the BIOS at startup? TAB doesn't work for me. I can get into it from the settings menu in Windows but that a bit of a hassle.

Also the BIOS update worked fine on mine. The updater didn't work the first time I ran it but it worked when I restarted it (I believe it auto ran). BIOS shows 1.06 now.
It's the delete key or f2 to get into the BIOS

Quick update on freezing issues.
Originally, everything was great. Then, as I installed some necessary applications such as office, web browsers began freezing.

Then I installed AMD software and it is running quite smooth again.
I would urge everyone to get the latest AMD driver as it fixes some of the messed up issues.

Anyone know if this can play Madden 20? Wanting to buy it for my nephew but not if it runs like crap.
I just bought madden 19 for $16. I'll let you know tonight or tomorrow how it runs. Meets the basic requirement...so we'll see!
20 doesn't meet the video ram requirements...I don't think.

I was typing a big email and noticed that a couple of times the touchpad moved (I don't think I touched it) and would then turn itself off, as if the top left corner with the light had been double tapped. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Edit: Also, related touchpad issue, sometimes when resting 2/3 fingers on it the cursor will jump around fast between two locations, about an inch apart in the screen. Happened to anyone?

Awesome bro please keep me updated! I plan to set it to 720p and low settings, he's only 7 and won't matter to him. Thank you bro!

Downloading now. Once I get back I'll let you know. I used "can I run it" and it came back low on video card memory, but met everything else. I'm not getting my hopes to high, maybe I'll be surprised!

I'm trying to do this from wiki:

INCREASE DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS:
To increase the display's max brightness download Radeon Software [amd.com], open the new software, navigate to Settings > Display and disable Vari-Bright. The display will now be ~50% brighter.(Many owners report no difference).

- and Radeon autodetect installer gives me error 182 - AMD installer cannot properly identify the AMD graphics hardware.

???

(I'm doing this on M141 currently, but I thought it applies to both R5 and R3?)

Also busted my x-rite display calibrator out and this laptop screen brightness registered at 192 nits after disabling Vari-Bright in Radeon software. Terrible as this lcd panel is supposed to be able to hit 250 nits oem. Anyone else have a calibrator where you can check your screen brightness and report back? Don't wanna exchange if this is normal max brightness for this laptop.

Does on/off Vari-Bright change brightness as measured by your calibrator? Is restart required for it to take effect? I turned it off - no difference.

Makes no difference with my calibrator on the screen. Literally doesnt change at all when turning off and on. Tried restarting too; no change.

IT RUNS! Madden 19-
actually well with the 3D stuff turned on and still on low everything. If you turn it all off, it runs really well. I used an Xbox controller plugged in via usb. No problem.

Wow they have really raised the price of the laptops now. Hopefully they get back to the $199/$299 level again.

I picked up the $199 and it gets pretty bright. Is there something I can download to test screen brightness?

I think it sets the processor and graphic drivers accordingly. No freeze at this point.
