this is becoming an insanely good deal. it was a good deal at 399, better at 349. and now 299? it's one of those slickdeals i'm tempted to buy even though i dont need it!
I am sure if you wait even more till 2021 or better 2022 BF, there will be even better electronics. 😛
Review for the laptop [notebookcheck.net]

Seems to be 2 M.2 slots and 1 DDR4.

I've upgraded the RAM to 32GB as well. Under Task Manager, the laptop seems to never use beyond 10GB/30GB (I assume the missing 2GB is allocated to VRAM). I tend to have 30-40 Chrome tabs open, a bunch of Microsoft Office apps, sometimes Firefox and Edge running as well. I never seem to see RAM use more than 10GB (+/- 0.5GB) and available RAM seems to stay around 20GB under Task Manager > Performance > Memory. Just curious if 32GB is overkill and if the laptop can use more than 16GB.
did you also disable the virtual memory? if not windows might be playing it safe

Was there a particular reason to update the bios?

Several common customer complaints were specifically addressed in the UEFI firmware updates.
The biggest one is problems with the sleep function / not waking up as should
screen going black is another one.

Bear in mind, AMD issues AGESA updates from time to time, and those are also applied through firmware updates.

Alright, so since the automatic BIOS update, every time I restart the computer I've been getting a CMD box with nothing on it show up and then close immediately. I assumed it was some updater loading. I was correct. But now it's messed up and this shows up every time:

How do I disable it?

Edit: Found the culprit.

By the way, as I said 10 pages ago, the BIOS auto update only happened successfully when I deleted the THX audio driver. This was after I experienced a sound issue, restarted the computer to see the BIOS update message (motile whatever) that would fail to update and only stop keyboard. After deleting the driver the update worked. Shit's farked yo.

Has anyone ugraded their wireless card to ax200 and have it work with linux? Windows is fine. I don't have ethernet available so I would have to install drivers for it, if it's the issue, without internet.

I had Ubuntu 19.10 installed before I upgraded to an AX200 wifi card, and upon reboot Ubuntu didn't detect it.
(me being lazy)Instead of going through the steps to install the drivers for the AX200,
I just re-installed the entire OS. Ubuntu works great after the re-install.

I have returned the first one and I'm waiting on the replacement. Will I have a 30 day return window from the day I pick it up on the second one?

There's a new review out and the guy talks about getting an M.2 SSD in the free slot and using the current SSD slot to put a second RAM stick. Is that possible? I'm assuming he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Re some complaints about random awakening from sleep in a bag:

Mine sleeps fine with shutting the lid. Sleep is evident by flashing power light. In this state it is easily awakened by pressing any key.

However during sleep it can be also awakened by pressure on the lid which seems to cause a keypress.

After some time in sleep mine hibernates. In hibernate one must push the power button to awake. Once in hibernate the pressure on lid awaken issue is obviously not present.

This can be solved by setting hibernate on lid close instead of sleep. Or maybe with a thin drawer closer silicone pad sticker on the lid corners to prevent the screen touching the keys with lid pressure.

Anyone having high battery drain in sleep? Sometimes i have the laptop in sleep on a desk and it can drain the whole battery in 3-4 days. It should be in sleep mode as i have to press the pwer button to turn it back on. I would lose 10-20% per day if not plugged in.

that's good. 32gb is really more than most people can use. you can also use a software ramdisk like i do and make a 10gb ram disk and set windows temp dirs to it under environment advanced setting
