FYI - The NVR in the 9 camera kit is significantly better imho. At the current prices I would go with the 9 camera kit ( 1 more camera, better NVR for $200 more )
I would expect to eventually see the 8 camera kit go for $100-200 less ( $699 or perhaps even $599 )

I am pretty sure they are exactly the same cameras. Both systems have the same functions too

Yes I do believe the cameras are the same.
The NVR is significantly better in terms of specs on the 9 camera kit.

The cameras in the kit you picked up are slightly newer models ( they're the Lorex version of Dahua's OEM 8MP "AI" cameras ), and personally I like the camera case a bit more ( the cases feel sturdier ) in the kit you picked up.
NVR is nicer in the pricier kit. So I like the cameras you picked up a bit more, and the NVR in this deal kit more..
If you're not yet prepared to decide what you want, take a little time to figure it out.
While we saw a lot of deals in the last couple weeks I expect us to still see a couple decent deals will come out in the next 1-2 months judging by previous years.

We've covered this a few times in the BF-cyberweek threads on lorex
Basically - look at the spec sheets, look for how much bandwidth the NVRs can handle. That gives you a rough idea of how much processing power each NVR is capable of.

Also, in the specs, they list 3 models and thus blanket statement: "Increase your surveillance area with adding a POE switch expanding your system up to 32 channels". Is this NVR capable of handling 32 cameras??

I'd also like to know as I am thinking of doing the same. Happy with the quality of the cameras but the expansion in the future and the added storage capacity seems like it may be worth it. The 4K+audio uses the storage up pretty quickly.
