I'm trying to find info on that GPU. I've been looking for a 2 for 1 with a reasonable GPU. This deal seems to hit all the marks. I was initially going to go AMD, but it's been tough finding a 2 in 1 with a strong dedicated GPU.

Started with looking for a gaming laptop with intent to double as a work and play machine - I don't play but it was going to be for kids if needed. Bought an Asus machine for cheap (relatively) and it was 15.6." and thought I need a 17" for a good gaming experience. So returned that to Best Buy. Meanwhile got a 15.6" 2-in-1 Lenovo from Office Depot because it was just a good deal. I was getting to like the 2-in-1 option but missed a full keyboard. So began my search for 2-in-1 and I placed an alert on SD - Lenovo most commonly doesn't come with full keyboard in this size and HP does and Dell was hit and miss - so my search was limited to a Dell or HP. Soon enough found Dell laptop with MX250 - Open Box item from Best Buy with slightly higher price range. Was using it and liking it - it even has a nice dedicated spot for holding on the pen. And now this comes along and finally tying everything together - gaming option and 2-in-1 features. So I will be that guy who buys and returns laptops on a regular basis. Hopefully this is the one and I can stop this circus for a while. I imagine this whole exercise is not too uncommon among SDers.
Plus I am hoping the Asus machine has less of bloatware compared to a Dell one. Although I will miss a spot to keep the pen, and also USB-C charging (not sure though). Wonder if RAM is upgradeable..
The primary motivation to get something new is the desire to have a 2-in-1 form factor for when we travel.
I replaced my Asus with an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 from a recent Slickdeal that was about $650 for an "Open box - excellent" that showed up basically brand new. That and having my finger on the pulse of the mid-tier 2-in-1 market for the better part of a year now is what I'll be basing my comparisons on.
Pros:
Windows Hello (IR sensors)
Lots of storage if you need it
4k Display if you're into that sort of thing
Decent graphics if you're into that sort of thing
Cons:
Lots of storage space soaking up resources if you don't need it
4k display (I prefer 1080p for improved battery life on a display this size)
Hopped up graphics is something I don't need
No USB-C (Really!?) [edit: looks like there's one USB-C on the right side. No mention of it all in the specs let alone if it's capable of charging]8th gen i7
No WiFi 6
Heavier at 4.5lbs
Summary: Decent machine for 2018 standards but recent advancements in hardware have left it feeling a bit antiquated. $1,000 and nearly 2020? Hell no. If it were one of these 2.5lb featherweights with all the same specs, maybe. Even then though the lighter 2-in-1's are offering better specs at a lighter package and similar price points.
Even with my stellar track-record with Asus portables I'd pass on this deal because I feel as though it's aging hardware that deserves more of a discount when you compare it directly to competitors offerings approaching 2020.
This or the dell one??
