i don't understand, mavic pro as in m1p? is there a reason why you want the previous model?
It's like buying a smart watch when all I needed was something to tell time. I have no desire to grab something just because it's the latest "greatest" when the other meets my need, more importantly as a first drone I'm more comfortable with disaster in the Pro price range v Pro Platinum and up price range.

ok that's cool. i have an apple watch 2. but these drones are mostly promoted when dji backs them and since the mavic pro is the older model, it's unlikely dji has allocated any promotional monies for them. it would be like a car dealership ready to sell the 2020 cars and they want to clear the 2019s from the lot and the manufacturer will pitch in $1,000 but nobody will do it for the left over 2018s the few new ones that are still around. you can't just buy a drone anyone so there is a certain amount of control and coordination at the retailers. of course there are places like ebay and the secondary market where these rules don't apply. otherwise there are refurb mavic pros on dji.com at a good price.
have you checked into the mavic mini? good first drone.

I've breezed past the Spark, Mini and Air based on size along with lack of sensors on Mini and Spark ultimately keep me zoned on Pro. Actually the wifi, flight time and distance put me off Spark. I've not thought much of them at this point. Made up my mind and decided not to settle on things I already decided I wasn't interested in.
I have the spark and air and m2p. All very different, if your serious, buy a m2p and skip the rest. Be smart. If you want a fun little drone, buy the new mavic mini.

this is a good deal on a m2p but it's a sure sign the next mavic is near!
wonder if the refurb can attach dji care refresh?
