What watch brands would make the best gifts here in the USA?

I understand that some brands are not as big overseas as they are here in the states. For example, Bulova was a USA brand now owned by Japanese Watch conglomerate Citizen. I bought a couple of Bulova watches from amazon yesterday and they will be xmas gifts for all my latest clients...
Main question is, will these Bulova watches make a good gift?
If not, what brands should I be looking into?
As a side note, do watches make nice gifts?

Young people don't wear watches much anymore.
In that case, a classy looking Bulova would likely be appreciated. I certainly think of Citizen as being a good brand as well.
In the end, it's the act of giving that will be appreciated the most.

Watch is too personal face type size what metal/color is it etc..
there are a lot of other things that would be appreciated as a gift.
My daughter got a watch for Christmas it is still sitting in the box we need to find some place that sell it so we can return it for store credit.
