If you really need these speeds you be looking a pro gear like Cisco, Aruba, or Unifi. So this router doesn't really make sense unless you just want the cool antennas.
I know some people spend thousands dollar to get the business grade internet at home but not everybody can spend that much. Personally, I manage Meraki system at work and used the AC5300GT at home in AiMesh system.
I learned a lot that day.

If you specifically don't need it, don't buy it. But don't assume that your specific needs cover most others. For that matter, don't assume your specific needs cover anyone otherwise than yourself. WIFI 6 brings improvements on multiple fronts, it's not a niche update.

Agreed.
It's months away from officially becoming the new standard because there is a genuine need for the benefits it offers.
Agreed.
The idea that it's "possibly useful in extreme cases" and that Google/Amazon devices are the game-changer is laughable.
I do not know where you make that connection.
Not everyone plans on littering their house with Google/Amazon devices, yet are certainly capable of needing or benefiting from WIFI 6.
So what is it? (Laughable or these devices may need WiFi6?) These devices with their extensions (switches, dimmers, cameras, thermostates etc.) are an important driver for the consumer market and stand to benefit most from 1024QAM and OFDMA.
And also as I said earlier, there are WIFI 6 devices and adapters readily available right now, and will be the standard on tons of products soon.
I wouldn't call that "readily available".

I am making no assumptions, I am merely expressing an opinion based on multiple year's work as a network engineer.
Mesh is not a needed thing for the vast majority of people, I have a 2 story 4 bedroom house that a nice router covers just fine, even out to the detached garage. Other than perhaps increasing my wifi signal in the garage, it would provide no benefit to me. Others with different house setups may differ, but for many, you pay a similar amount, with reduced features, for mesh systems, when for 95% of people, they are useless.
This router is specifically for speed, and it's honestly it's a pretty good price for this router, especially with it being so new. wifi 6 is not a necessity, but if you're buying a new expensive router that you plan to keep hopefully for years to come, why not grab it? Especially considering everything will be wifi 6 before long, as it isn't exactly expensive compared to previous generations, such as cellphones ,adaptors, etc.
That said, you guys are nuts most of your arguments are ridiculous when comparing if you want to buy this product or not. They've iron'd out most of the bugs from what I can tell online, so if it interests you, and you have a fast connection, scoop it up and enjoy. If it doesn't, there are tons of far cheaper options available that the vast majority of people would benefit from.
I did however just set mine up, running smoothly so far, so here's to hoping it continues that way
