I have this monitor. I got it last year from Costco when it was like 679.99 before tax.
Considering the Costco lifetime satisfaction guarantee on monitors (read the fine print, the 90 day thing applies to tv's only.. I asked their support via email specifically about this)... This is one of the best vendors to purchase the Predator x34p from
Once you go ultrawide it's hard to go to lesser monitors. Im a casual gamer but do a fair amount of production /work from home remotely stuff w Adobe creative cloud. Changed my life and work flows to be honest.
I ended up getting a cheaper LG UW w lesser Hz and non IPS for my actual office because I grew tired of triple 24" 1080p standard office fare Dell biz monitors.

Thanks, it's a big purchase.. Money and box size wise.. Be prepared to have a desk space for it if you pull the trigger.
I mounted this along w my older monoprice 27" 1440p monitor on Amazon basics $99 hydraulic arms and built a desk w Ikea solid core table top and black drawers (reddit buildapcsales inspired). Anyway, main points.. If you use the oem acer stand.. It takes up a lot of desk space.
Other point to note.. You will want a 1080ti, 5700xt (yes its FS compatible) , 2070, 2070s, 2080, 2080s or 2080ti to maximize this thing for gaming and push all the pixels. D2, Metro Exodus, BL3, Halo Reach re-release look gorgeous.
Great price. I paid 850 for the similar alienware and don't regret one bit. Once you go ultra wide you won't want to go back. Next monitor I buy will need to be ultra wide and oled, but those are far off, so these are great monitors to wait for oled HDR later.
A great alternative is the MSI mag341cq - I have the the aw3418dw and compares the x34p, both great panels but expensive. The msi being VA may be the only drawback.

Can't recall the model, but AOC has a new VA ultrawide that was released this month. It's gained good reviews and I believe can do 144hz and is freesync/gsync compatible. It's in the upper 400's IIRC
Is this good for the $599 price? I might pull the trigger on this even though it's a few years old but with Costco "lifetime" warranty, I actually may upgrade from my 24" BenQ
Been doing so much research between this, Alienware aw3418dw (I missed out on), or the HP Omen 35. I have a MSI GTX 1080 gaming X I'm running. Just want a decent widescreen but don't want to spend over $1k for it.

My understanding is this is the same exact panel that's in the Alienware, so yes $599 is a great price, half what it MSRP'd for 2 years ago. I've heard rumors that Dell(Alienware) buy the higher rated panels than Acer but I don't believe it, I picked up the aw3418dw and notice more blb than there is on my Acer xb271hu, albeit that's a different panel, it speaks to the overall quality of the screens these manufacturers use.
There hasn't been a huge leap in performance in new UW models since these came out, most require you to disable HDR or other features to get their advertised "200hz", even the new $2000 models from Asus/HP/Acer.
Either model you go with will be great, I've thoroughly enjoyed my last month with an UW playing PoE, RDR2, and other games. I don't foresee going back to 16:9.

Thanks for the reply! Appreciate your time. I'll go pick one up since I'm due for an upgrade.
