Update: Price dropped to $829 for white and $879 for black.

November this was a front page deal for $799 at Lowes but many commented that it was better to buy through costco even at $100+ more because of the 2nd years of warranty free, 3rd and 4th year warranty free with costco credit card, ability to add additional 3 years warranty with discounted Squaretrade from costco for $79 (up to 7 years total warranty for $79 if you have costco card), and the free delivery that includes hookup and haul away, plus Costco's customer service should any issues arise.

Well, now this model is $829 for white at Costco ($879 for black model). So for only $30 more with all the advantages of buying through Costco, this seems like a better deal.

Also, this is the #1 rated model on Consumer Reports.

Check for rebates with your local water company etc on buying this high efficiency model which may also improve the deal.

Warranties run consecutively. 2 years from Costco, then 3 years if you buy $79 warranty, then 2 years if you buy with Costco Visa, for total of 7 years total warranty with $79 square trade warranty and costco visa, 5 years total warranty with $79 Square trade warranty without costco Visa, or 4 years total warranty without $79 square trade warranty but with costco visa.

I do not believe this includes the pedestal nor do I believe the previous deal did.

I am having issues getting the product link to work right but if it fails just search WM3900 on costco.

I just bought this a week ago in Best Buy for 849$ white color. It's everyday price. Comes with 2 year warranty. oh plus Best Buy have a promo where they will give you 100$ Best buy gift card with your purchase.

I just checked on bestbuy. See link below. At bestbuy it is $899 for white and $949 for black, specifically states a 1 year warranty in see all specifications, you need to add $30 for installation and $20 for haul away, and to add a 3 year extended warranty the cost is $105 vs $80. Bestbuy states that the regular price is $1050 though who ever knows about those. Maybe the person complaining mistakenly looked up an older model not the WM3900. Also I had been looking at this model earlier and I know it was $949 from costco and $899 from Sams Club a week or two ago.

This washer was a 5 star front page deal a month ago for $50 less with less warranty and less installation service.

I avoid best buy ever since they changed return policy to 14 days. I prefer to buy appliances at Costco. Second choice is Home Depot.

are you sure the square trade warranty picks up after year 4? or overlaps with the Costco and really only gives you 2+3 which is only an additional year?

I've looked at their brochures, it doesn't overlap like Best Buy. It picks up after the manufacturer warranty & Costco's warranty end.

I bought this through Costco for $829, and they are scheduled to deliver in a week. My last Kirkland (GE) washer was purchased from Costco in 2003. Costco is the way to go for appliances. I don't bother shopping around because their service removes so much of the stress.

Does anybody know if Costco will deliver if there's no Costco in your city? I order online from them often but I've never needed an item this large.

How does this compare to top loading washing machines? I've read in the past that front loaders have typically more issues/not as reliable as top loaders. Thanks!

That's what I've read. We bought a basic but large Kenmore top loader for $450 and have been very happy. I have family with front loaders and they've had issues and from different brands.

call and ask, this is exactly what costo.com phone line is for. its not some clearance price mistake where you need to be afraid to call.

But if you get a total of 7 years of warranty for $79 that changes the equation. This is the #1 rated front loader on consumer reports but you cant be too careful.

The warranties don't overlap and the order is manufacturer, squaretrade, then costco visa. So you may need to keep the costco visa for 7 years if you do everything, not sure if the visa warranty works unless you still have the visa but its only annual fee is you have to keep your costco membership.

I was a little skeptical about OP's 7 years claim too so I checked it up. The Squaretrade product page on Costco.com has this little graphic (see attachment).

and the text
Quote :
Extended Coverage does not replace the manufacturer's warranty or any coverage by Costco Concierge Services, but it may provide certain additional benefits.
But the Costco Citi card has this under benefits

Quote :
Coverage begins when the manufacturer's warranty, or an extended warranty you bought, expires.
In no event will total coverage exceed seven years from the purchase date.
So - 2 + 3 + 2 = 7 years. Not bad.
