Do you think this is one of the better deals of this year? I was just about to buy this. Are these cameras better than their 4k turrets? I don't necessarily need the warning lights and warning signal
Thank you Matt

Good deal, Decent kit, nice to see it at Costco which has the best return policy.
The specs look good on these, as they have 1/1.8" sensors
The turret models in the kits iirc have 1/2.5" sensors - so from a spec perspective these cameras should be better
I you're comfortable with IP address config I would augment the kit with a varifocal camera or 2 to give a greater range at the cost of a narrower FOV ( Security Camera King has a couple of deals which have been posted here on 2 varifocal models )

This says you 4TB get 6 days with 9 cams and 24/7 recording at the highest quality.
Lorex warranty says 1 year. What's the extended warranty offer from Costco for this product? Does anyone ever claim any warranty from them and is it really as easy as advertised? Thanks

From what I have been reading, Lorex support seems to be a "mixed bag". So try to do as much DIY learning as possible for best results. ( note, as it is a Dahua OEM product you can typically search for Dahua info to help trouble shoot this... i.e. check the Dahua wiki, ipcamtalk Dahua section, .. )
Costco has a great return policy ( not really a warranty though ) on security camera systems.
For warranty use a CC that extends the warranty.

My inputs 9, 30, 24, 3, 4k, High, H.265 gets 3.91TB.

Inputs: 9, 1, 30, 4k. I would assume they know how to figure in their own implementation of H.265 into this.

FYI - cameras are spec'ed for 15 fps at "4K" UHD / 8MP
Resolution/Frame rate 4K(8MP) @ 15fps
A lot of the size of the video will depend on how effective the compression is, thus it depends on the scene changes.
The NVR is nice as it can hold 2 internal SATA HDDs - so for most of us that gives us enough storage - and when you do see an event you can select what you want and backup the video to a USB storage device. ( iirc a network attached device also works for backups.. I have not tried any live streaming to a network storage device though )
If you need more than 2 HDDs, typically those folks are looking for higher tier models of NVRs that can take 4 HDDs or other VMS solutions.

I would lean more towards what the manufacturer/brand says their system is capable of storing... 🤷
