Not sure I have any of those. Is that where you sacrifice prime shipping speed to get credits for other stuff?

I got it too in my fidelity account. I bought the same at Samsclub for 40 bucks using 15 off 30 using amex card. But this offer is for ONLINE version only. I always use the desktop version on TT.

Not sure. I am at about 350k combined, so not sure what else they need. I did take about 100k out earlier this year and move to Chase to take advantage of their Sapphire Checking/investing offer, but that's probably not a big enough deal to matter.

20 off TurboTax or HR Block. The 30 off TaxAct.... I'll be skipping all of those.

IDK...
was reading elsewhere that 1M is required....but that seemed too high..so was estimating a conservative 250k..

maybe we need to star a poll in wiki..for those that got this offer:
..."what range was your balance"

10k-100k
100k-250k
250k-500k
500k-750k
750k-1M

I speculate the criteria is Active Trader OR >$1 million in non-401(k). Been with Fidelity for a long time and only started getting this last couple of years after getting the $1 million in assets.

Federal is like a 1040ez anymore with the greatly increased standard deduction. State is still a PITA

All good guesses, but that's all we can do is guess. I can tell you, though, that my total assets at Fidelity in non-retirements accounts amounts to one penny.

The offer as stated on the Fidelity site says online. However, once you take the link you can scroll to the bottom and take another link for the desktop versions. That's what I use as well.

Fuqqq this, it's not a deal, it is available every year to a very limited number of people.

Can anyone explain the logic of this move? Offering a $40 discount to a "high value" client? Why would you give the slightest fark about $40 if you have >$1M in no retirement investable assets? And let's dispense with platitudes that "this is how you become a millionaire".

Brokerages services are a commodity especially if you are a passive investor (eg execution speed means nothing if you trade a couple of times a year).

Now that commission are $0, that's one less item to differentiate Fido from Schwab from etrade to Vanguard etc.

Majority of high net worth will likely have to file taxes so this would have value to most people. Low cost move to differentiate Fido from other brokerages.
