I got the Fidelity free TurboTax online Premier offer, but it says "Receive a free federal and state tax return", which I assume means one each.
I need 3 for my family, so cuts down on value to me. I had already bought HR Block ($20 for deluxe via newegg deal) which has 5 free federal files, but no free state files (I just print state and mail it in).
I'll see what Fidelity offers next year before I buy elsewhere first.

What does "Code is good for" mean? I assume you are trying to say you can install on 5 computers? However when I mentioned "3 for my family" I did not mean they all installed on their own computers. I install it on one computer and then do my and my 2 dependent daughter's tax returns from there, so I only care about how many e-filings are covered. The literal text on the Fidelity site says "a", implying only one e-filing is covered.

Once you have installed Turbotax, you can e-file 5 returns for free (Federal only). It doesn't matter if you got it from Costco or thru the Fidelity link. And you should have been looking for the answer on the Turbotax site, not Fidelity.

The install key is a separate question, and it can also be used 5 times, but that's to install on different machines.

Also, the Fidelity wording actually applies to the online version, in which case it really is a single return. You need to get the download version to do multiples, although in theory you could use the free Turbotax link multiple times to different TT Online logins to file three returns for free there. If you use the online version, state e-filing is also free (because they charge for the state software and e-filing together and it's free with the Fidelity offer.

Not true, I have 7-figures in Fido in a good mix of taxable and retirement accounts, no dice. Guess another year of no filing, IRS too poorly funded to catch me anyway.
Same here with a 7-figure Fido account also with a mix of retirement and taxable money but I only got a $20 savings bone. Costco offers the same price for Premier Turbo Tax so not a compelling deal at all.

Worked for me. I use Active Trader Pro and just started using Wealth-Lab Pro. With the qualifications set at having $25K in Fidelity assets and 120+ trades within a 12-month period, the bar is set pretty low to get the free Premier edition of TurboTax. Now, with $0 commission trades, there is no reason why anyone can't execute 60 1-share buy trades and 60 1-share sell trades in the next 80 days.

Download it, install it and then hit upgrade in the software itself.

Good idea, any tips on how to quickly execute 1-share buy and sell trades? Do I need to manually do that or is there a way to execute them automatically?

Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but how can I tell if the promotion is applied when using the online version? I clicked through Fidelity, but I can't tell if it is going to try to charge me when I get to the point of filing. The part that worries me is that it says Deluxe on the top of the tab instead of Premier.

This is for my daughter's return. I am using the downloaded version for my own taxes.

ETA: I clicked around some more and found that I had to upgrade to Premier before getting the free promotion. If I left it as is, I would have had to pay upon filing. Now it looks good!

For others, when you get to the Turbotax landing page from Fidelity, it will show the $0 pricing for Premier. You need to use that.

You can also go to the filing page even before you're ready to file and "pay" for the product. In the case of the Fidelity offer, it's free. That way you are locked in no matter what machine you use.

I wonder if Fidelity will shut you down if you do numerous buy and sell of the same share of stock?

Thank you for this advice. I did go ahead and "pay" for the free premier to lock it in.

Originally, I did start at the landing page and clicked the $0 for premier, but the system changed the product in response to the questions about the filer (single, no dependents, etc.). Maybe I should have skipped that part somehow.

Seems counter-intuitive that they would recommend a less expensive product Smilie.

Glad you were able to lock in the free Premier.
