Yup agree with above, it's $84 at my Meijer's too. Don't know why OP got down voted when it says YMMV. They said some stores have marked it down further so it's worth a shot to take a look if you're there for groceries
Which one is better. Battery or wired ?? Any feedback.
it just depends on your house. my old ones were wired, so I went for wired. but you can mix and match, so if you want to add more battery ones are obviously independent of wiring

With these it's not really a concern. If you have wired ones already get the wired, just one less thing to worry about not working when you really need it to be. I wouldn't rip up my ceilings just to wire these though.
Generally, hard wired is nice because it links them, one detects something and they all go off. Plus they don't need batteries so you never have to get the ladder out or deal with the annoying random beeps.
These though, link to one another via WiFi/zwave and your nest app. And if the battery is low you get the notification via your phone, not just a random beep that you have to hunt down (or worse potentially not hear)
**Check the code in your area, many places will require hard wired.
Nothing says cheap like waiting to install a life/house saving device just to save $30
Last time I checked, this was slickdeals not necessary deals. I have 9 of the protects and one additional smoke detector. I would like to replace the last one but I'll wait for a deal, since I already have 9 of them.

Back in November, there was a similar deal at Target and people were price matching with other stores and a whole lot of chaos
I picked up a couple of the battery versions, at the $84 clearance price last week.
