I think I found my new hobby Smilie I spent a while last night (thank you insomnia!) browsing the Lowes app for discounts on cordless drills (my quest to replace my Porter Cable tools i just sold off). I expanded my search to a few other stores further away, and found quite a bit of variation from store to store.

I did a few different keyword searches (i.e. Dewalt, Kobalt, Black and Decker etc..) and found the most useful keyword was Dewalt, after I filtered down by power tools. That seemed to bring up the best list of items across different brands.

Anyway, the list below represents what I was able to find across my 7 local stores.

I already know that pretty much ALL of these items have pretty much been posted at some point.

What is NICE about these sorts of reposts is that sometimes peoples local stores drop prices at different times and when a deal is originally posted, your store may not have had the item on sale, but now it is.

Here is my list, I certainly hope it helps someone! I think the best deal (if you can find it) is the corded Hitachi drill. That one was a surprise. Also, note the $89 dewalt drill is available for shipping, at least it was for my zipcode. All the rest of the items are in-store only

EDIT: Please note, some of these were showing zero stock on brickseek, but lowes.com showed inventory. My guess is, that means my in store pickup orders will be canceled due to non stock, but still worth a shot to check both !
Happy hunting and Enjoy!

Whelp, I think I got my hopes up too early. All of my orders of "1 item in stock" were canceled. Apparently it was inventory mismanagement. Oh well, you win some and lose some! Hopefully someone has better luck Smilie On the bright side, I no longer have to ask my brother to drive to his lowes for me Smilie

Great post. As an added bonus, if you see a price on the Lowe's app, always double check it in store. I work at Lowe's and there are often discrepancies that occur between the app and what the actual price is in person (pretty ridiculous IMO). If the price has dropped further in the store, it won't always show as that new, lower price in the app right away. The systems are very old and outdated and fall prey to human error quite often.

Good to know, thanks! Any other helpful hints for those of us wanting to find good deals? Also, why don't employees buy up all these incredible deals? Or do you find out about them like the rest of us? It just seems like if i am (for example) slapping a $10 price sticker on a $100 drill, I would be strongly motivated to buy it Smilie

I notice that Lowe's prices can vary pretty wildly online. To the point that I'll refresh a product page 10 or 15 times before I actually put it in my cart. I've seen a price drop like that more than once. Also pricing between stores seems to vary greatly. As a Lowe's employee, any idea what that's all about?

Haha, I won't lie and say that my shop hasn't improved considerably during my time here. And yes, there are a lot of times we are able to take advantage of being the ones who are finding these great deals. The fact of the matter is, a lot of employees don't really care about tools. Most of them just work here for the paycheck. Those of us that do care, tend to have most of what we want/need and want always justify the purchase. My specific job has me doing product resets all over the store which means I am often in the most beneficial position to take advantage of these deals. However, I've also found that every store handles the markdowns completely different based on the managers discretion. Sometimes we will be told to put 100 reels of trimmer line on a 75% off shelf and other times we have to put things on a regular "clearance" shelf and let the price stay the same. That's why it's such a good practice to view brickseek and other local store prices. They get price drops at different times and won't always have the same inventory at the same prices

I am not the lowes employee, but my guess is maybe it is related to this [ibtimes.com] Smilie

Other Lowes tip is big YMMV I regards to actually in stock. My closet Lowes whenever it is clearance assume not in stock. Every time I order I get the call sorry we don't have it. So if you are close enough just go in. Sadly too far for me.
