Just got an email that Chevy is offering a $8500 Customer Discount on the Bolt until 2/3/20. Many dealers are already discounting this vehicle on lots by $7000+, and they have other incentives if you qualify. And the Bolt still qualifies for a $1875 Fed real tax incentive but it expires Mar. 31. The Bolt for 2020 has a range of 259 miles second only to the Tesla.

The Bolt and Volt do not have the same drivetrain, ignore the first comment as it has no relevance to this discussion: they do not even have the same number of motors. The Bolt has one motor and the Volt has two.
The batteries are also different in the 2020 model compared to the earlier versions, and are also different from those in the Volt.
Can't speak to the Bolt, but I have about 75k trouble free miles on my Volt. I assume the Bolt has the same electric drive train (obviously without the gas backup the volt has). Smooth ride with plenty of torque from the electric motor. Chevy isn't exciting as Tesla but I think they're a solid opinion of you want to make an EV your next car.
I'd love to see the out-the-door pricing on this here in the Northeast. Lucked into the Hyundai Ioniq SlickDeal back in October and my wife has been absolutely thrilled with her Ioniq EV. Curious how the Bolt prices out in-comparison....
I wonder if the incentives are so generous in NJ now that the state just added a $5000 rebate on all plugins -- EVs and PHEVs -- on top of the no sales tax on EVs.
I could live with the Bolt's range. Plus, I like hatchbacks.
Fine print for Ted Britt, Must qualify for $1500 lease loyalty and PLUS $875 freight. Realistically your looking at $24,300.
Keep in mind the MSRP of $38,285 DOES not include DCFC and HEATED STEERING wheel, which in my opinion are a must.
I bought a 2017 Bolt LT for about $20k ($40k MSRP) in 2018 which I traded in for a 2019 Bolt LT in 2019 for $21,500 ($40,300 MSRP) which I currently own and have considered doing this one more time for a 2020 with the slightly longer range.
These Bolts are fantastic. Driven about 25k between the 2017 and 2019 and have not had ONE issue NO maintenance other than one tire rotation for $30 at Costco. I
I really want a Tesla Model 3 but you cant beat these $15k - $18k discounts after all rebates, discounts and tax credits.
Also keep in mind if you have a GM card they are offering an additional $1k credit until March and each state has other various tax incentives.
Pretty sure if you search high and low online your can find a better deal.

A couple of things in general and for EV buyers...
EVs in general are difficult for people that don't own homes or have a consistent at home charge source. I am a former Tesla owner that struggled because I needed a place to charge at night. Yes I could track down level 2 chargers but those took hours and yes I could go to a Tesla Supercharger but that was 20 miles away and I had to do it almost every 10 days due to vampire drain which is real with EVs look it up.
This deal is a good deal for a select number of people, however, the Bolt is not a performance EV, its just an EV. If you are looking to eliminate fossil fuels go for it I appreciate your commitment, but if you are just looking for value there are plenty of cars out there that offer a lot more at this price.
Too much once you've seen a picture of them. I Grew up in Michigan. Love GM. Have owned 7 Chevy vehicles from Camaro SS to Z06 Vette to Equinox, and Cruze. Never has there been an uglier modern Chevy.
Been trying to buy a GM vehicle for months. Need a sedan. Malibu is about the only choice remaining at this point. I like the vehicle but just cannot get past the poor visibility. Buick has nothing any more. May as well fold. I want a GM vehicle but really nothing there for me/us any more. Sad.
